I love this dialer but it doesnt have the Built in smart dialer. the only way is to hide keypad and start to spell the name then it opens that person.
does anyone else have this issue or can anyone else tell me how to get the smart dial where I can just use the numbers to dial a number?

Nevermind: seems it didnt build into the rom after all. Several things I thought I had put in were not, must have been my computer.

I also cooked with the Manilla Dialer and the smart dial doesn't work unless you hide the skin via advanced config.
I remember an iphone dialer which required a specific EtPhone.dll to make the smart dial work.
Hetal - Have you come across EtPhone.dll for your Manilla dialer which would allow the smart dialer to work with that skin?

where's your OEM folder? just a simple drag and drop of 1 folder, or open each zip and drag each one into the user_oem folder?

Yes.. you should have a folder structure on your hard drive like this :
\PPCKitchen\USER_OEM
unzip Hetal's files, and put the FOLDERS into this USER_OEM directory. not the files themselves, but the whole folder..

I found the etphone.dll from your oem and copied it into the /windows/ folder and re-enabled the dialer skin. For some reason the smart dial still doesnt work. I went back to the kitchen and cooked the same rom to see if anything from that oem got writen over. there were 3 files clg_in.gif, miss.gif, and clg.gif. I believe these files are the icons for the call log.
I have attached the build log, if that might help. I would love to get your dialer working, it looks great, but I prefer to have the smart dial. Thanks for all your work!!

i thought i did that correctly, here's what i have

easier getting one big file with everything from that site, than clicking each zip folder in this thread on the 1st 2 pages.

Love the Manila Dialer but keeps my data going forever and ever. The data bars never gray out. not even when i the phone is on idle. anyone else experienced this??
(I tested/flashed a few times and confirmed the problem is with the dialer).
any solutions ??

It's not really going on forever. The icons just don't change. This typically happens when using a GSM dialer on a CDMA device.

Changing the dialer is the only 'fix' that i know of...

this skin will show the "now screen out of memeory" in red letter on a black background if you use SMS button on the now screen and return back to the mobile shell

I dont see anything in this thread...but did anyone get the Manila dialer to work with smart dialing. I love the look of this dialer...very simple but do want smart dialing if I can get it...thanks!

i could not get any of these to work with one of DCD kitchens, do they only work on the PPCKITCHEN?
