So I guess it has been confirmed, 100%, that along with the native threaded SMS in wm6.1 we will also have fully working MMS over sprint networks? I took a picture of a funnel cloud yesterday on the road and wanted to send it to a friend. I then remembered how lame it was not to have working MMS and my "jimmy rigged" Arcsoft quasi-MMS solution was no longer working.

Thanks for bringing me up to date on this.

In regard to SprintTV - Does this mean we can simply run the program and it comes pre-loaded on the ROM but we have no subscriptions for anything. In other words, we cant really view anything anyway? Or do they plan to allow at least some basic channels (i.e. CNN, etc.)? I have a SERO package and I have managed to get SprintTV up and running with current ROM but I cant really access anything due to subscriptions. I was able to access 5-6 channels a few months ago but that has since changed. To what extent can a standard (or SERO) user expect to have in terms of access to channels?

since when is email not considered mms? I use ###-###-####@sprinctpcs.com to send pic mail, real simple, just like from my home pc what could be easier then that?

I use email to send mms ...works good for me!

For other Sprint users, 10digitnumber@pm.sprint.com
For Verizon users, 10digitnumber@vzwpix.com
For T-Mobile users, 10digitnumber@tmomail.net
For Cingular users, 10digitnumber@mms.mycingular.co

I would definitely say email is not MMS. MMS is when you type in a number for any of the carriers, not an email address, to send a picture, video, or sound file. That would be easier than trying to know the the carrier email server for all of your friends. Also, it is easier to send the pic (or other multimedia) directly from the capture interface (i.e. camera).
On the flip side, some people are somewhat annoyed that Sprint forces users to use a web browser to see pictures online when using smartphones. Standard phones have pictures delivered directly to the phone using the MMS application.
That is what most users considered MMS.
Sure, MMS is based off of email, so is SMS. But I wouldn't say if you have email you have MMS. More like you have limited MMS or just the ability to email multimedia, not a true Multimedia Messaging Service.

Also, please check sMMS out. Its hosted right here at PPCGeeks, and its a great program that pretty much solves any of the no-MMS gripes people have had. Even if you were fine just emailing pics, I still recommend you check it out. It's free for basic functionality, so you have nothing to lose. IMO, its a MUST-HAVE program.

James said MID JULY for the ROM... MMS WON'T BE INCLUDED... IT WILL COME SEPARATELY LATER THIS SUMMER.

Guess James wasn't right?

As you noticed it wasnt Sprint that Released it... Not yet anyways... It was not scheduled until Mid July.. However that could be due to wanting to release the touch rom first who knows... I have not been able to get a hold of my contact as of yet to find out any dates... Who knows maybe they worked overtime and decided it was stable now and plan to release it now... Well probably wont officially see it on the site for a while but who knows..

Then dont purchase a windows mobile phone, I mean the name says it alll... WINDOWS, if i want my windows mobile phone to act like cellphone I would of purchased a LG Muziq. All i do is place the ###-###-####@sprintpcs.com into my contact list for any sprint users and their easy as pie. I do the same for vzw.... Also if someone wants to send me a pic then just send it to my yahoo account and my phone will access my yahoo account and i will have the pic just like pic mail.

Or pay $5 for sMMS. If you can't spare $5, there is a free version too. This is an easy fix if you look around. Like MOST (not all) other issues with the phone.

The name says NOTHING... Other windows phones have REAL mms... that same real mms worked on sprint phones until sprint disabled it... Clearly, it's not an issue with the phones, but with sprint refusing to pay to license a real MMS program.

but again, the name WINDOWS says absolutely nothing about MMS limitations.
