No2chem 5067 (3.49) incompatible apps thread
 

Ok folks, in case you weren't following the nuerom 2.1 thread, there's been a lot of talk about some funny stuff in the 5066 and 5067 not playing nicely with certain applications.

EDIT: It has been brought to my attention that this "funny business" is not limited to the no2chem roms, but rather the leaked rom from Sprint it is based on, namely the Titan 3.49 rom. It would appear to be something odd MS did to the system (or perhaps Sprint) since it also exists in the leaked 3.02 vogue Rom.

As far as I've researched, the reason for this is not yet determined. However, if the "broken" apps are avoided, the rom is otherwise smooth.

Since its hard to fish through that thread and find all the apps that are reported not working, I'd like to compile a list of what doesn't work so that people who are using this rom will know what to avoid.

Please post anything you've found not working (that used to work in earlier roms) here.

Here's a compiled list so far (suggested remedies included in parenthesis):

-HTC Home Customizer (works if using different version)

-TCPMP (works if using version without mpeg4 codec)

-Microsoft VoiceCommand settings freezes (works if using only 1.6.19213)

-Shape Services IM Plus

-Commercial Version of WMWiFiRouter won't install (pre-commercial version and installation via kitchen is OK)

I haven't had time to test all of this personally, so this is based entirely on your feedback. Please post in the thread and I'll try to keep this first page updated!

The HTC Home Plugin (Installing would not allow the phone to boot after a soft reset) and to my knowledge TCMP isn't working either. Both issues are fixed by using different/older versions of the software mentioned.

The HTC Home Customizer won't initialize. When i run it for the first I get an error...thats after a couple attempts at the kitchen...finally just left it out and installed it via .cab

Good post Dishe this should cut down on the traffic of new threads....

MSVC freezes the phone when you go to settings if you use the old version in the kitchen....you must use version 1.6.19213 when flashing 5067.

Also TCPMP player for 5067...

Select TCPMP 0.72RC1

TCPMP-MPEG4 Codec (will break TCPMP on newer bases)------do not select this one or Youtube will not work.

Anyone having problems getting activesync to work? My phone shows the icon for connecting, but the computer doesn't see the phone and when I open AS on the phone, it doesn't show a connection either. I've got Vista running on my laptop. The ROM upgrade went smoothly. If this has already been covered, would someone be kind enough to redirect me? :}

Shape Services IM Plus doesn't work in build 5066 nor 5077. Also tried the kitchen version of 5067..still no cigar :(. Many people have suggested to just use a different im app, but this one just seems to work best for me.

this is not just for the 50657, but for all builds 5060 and higher.

The large Task Manager does not work properly.
It will terminate any program in the background once another program is launched, whether you want it to or not.

any non-freeware version of WMWifiRouter won't work as a .cab install (after version .0.9.4). It will start the install then say 'unsuccessful'...
you can COOK IN version 1.0.1 through the kitchen though, and it WILL work..
weird... have tested this several times, through a few flashes of 5067....

my dialpad opens up everytime i open up an application...for example i got to open my texts,then close it...my dialpad shows up...weird

and i have no comm manager...when i go to assign buttons, there's no option to set it to the normal comm manager...although i do have a connection manager which is no help

thanks for starting this thread... are we thinking of rolling 5068 and future build errors into this thread?

OR better yet... when posting put the build version (506X) in parentheses at the start of the post.
