Would the ATI drivers really increase Mogul performance?

Hello guys!
I was wondering whether or not the missing video drivers would improve overall performance of the device or if it would merely improve video and landscape/portrait transitions.

If not, what's the big hype?

Yes, but what about opening, closing apps. and general interface responsiveness like a blackberry?

Come on now :)
You know I won't be satisfied with a short answer!
I want to know how!

I remember when I was overclocking my 6700, there was no delay when switching tasks and the touch-"creen response was instantaneous. But that was because the cpu was running 50% faster- not gpu.
Does the gpu really make that big of a diff?

sandiegodude - have you ever tried running Windows without video drivers?

Everything that has to do with the UI lags. Opening applications takes 2-3 times longer because the CPU has to do all the processing to draw the window in addition to loading and running all the processes to keep it going. Video is downright atrocious.

Same thing with our devices... only our devices lag whenever there is any input on the touchscreen as well.

i tried to overwrite the ripped drivers (dll), and my xv6800 froze on soft reset. Had to do a hard reset to get it back. Guess it takes more than just a few dll replacement.

Hold both soft keys while pressing the reset button with the stylus to hard reset.
YOU WILL LOSE ALL DATA NOT SAVED ON YOUR STORAGE CARD

There is a new update on the driver status here:

Although I can';t understand it, it looks pretty positive!!!
