As of TODAY 5/20/08, what is the most stable rom out there?
Hey guys, I've been flashing so much I should be wearing a trench coat through the park in the afternoon.
I can't deal with the bleeding edge anymore. I just missed a conference call because my Mogul wouldn't answer. Of course it hasn't done it before and hasn't since, but I know the next time when I have a big deal breaker phonecall, my mogul is bound to start acting up.- my luck Anyways, I'm ready to sacrifice some speed and utility for stability. I know, I know, I'm getting old. :( Any suggestions? Common sense would tell me that Sprint's official release should be the most stable, but I'm waiting to hear from you guys. |

Well no2chem just released 5067. Going to try it in a few, but I'd say its safe to assume this would be the one to try :D.

If it just came out, I think i'll take my time before trying that one. I was using 5066 and manytimes my phone would freeze. I've read that no2chems v. 5060 is the most stable of his roms.

now that 5067 is out, some drooling is forthcoming...... i like stability PLUS bleeding edge.. and i know if i go to 5067 right this second, i'll be up for days tweaking it...... i may just wait for the weekend, as there is bound to be a fix, 2 or 3, published in the next few days.... |

One vote for 5060. This version works well for me. (with Sprite Backup's daily "Reset" backup) I hadn't tried 5066 or 5067. Maybe they are good also.

Re: As of TODAY 5/20/08, what is the most stable rom out there?
That's a question without a definite answer. Each phone might have some hardware quirks other phones may not have.
As well, not everyone is going to be using the same 3rd party apps, or the same version of apps. Or use the phone in the same manner. As you'll notice, there are probably over a hundred different custom roms available for the Titan / mogul. This kind of question is not unlike asking "What are the best apps?". The most correct answer is trying the app / rom out for yourself for a while, and then you decide. But if you're going to use a custom rom, my general advice, is to keep your rom relatively up to date with what the latest versions from the "cook" (rom maker). But again, you might discover that a new rom version causes one of your must-have apps to bug out, so you'd need to consider that. |

I'm running the same rom from his kitchen and I still have to soft reset everyday.... I'm running pointui 1.51a, phone alarm and TodayAgenda.. After a few hours I'm down to 10mb and by the end of the day I'm at 5mb.. Oxios can only release about 2mb. If I try to open IE I'm locked and have to soft reset. Even if I close Pointui which is about 3MB i still don't get enough back. |
Re: As of TODAY 5/20/08, what is the most stable rom out there?
I'm on the same page. I've had GREAT memory management with no2chem's 5066, but on dcd 3.0.4 I was getting drained like ron jeremy.

I ran 5060 for quite some time....ran great....I changed to 5066 with 3.39.10 radio and ran it for about a week....also excellent no bugs...just flashed 5067 last night and so far so good....in essence NO2chem's roms to me are the most stable in my opinion....

Re: As of TODAY 5/20/08, what is the most stable rom out there?
Since ROM stability is affected by all the different programs that are out there, maybe it would be more useful to identify those programs that are more likely to cause problems.

Yes, I have installed about 50 or so programs, so my memory hovers at about 11 MB.

I'm running DCDs 3.0.4...fast, clean build, but what I just want to install way too many programs for good speed and reliablity. Like most, I have a hard time limiting what I use. The longer you have the device, the more app/games that you "need"....
For me, its DCD |
