Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7

For those of us who are still a little new to this, some help please.

I have read through the thread and know there is more to this install (from the .cab) than just adding it and everything works. I installed the cab, it installs fine but the MMS isn't in 'messaging'. Can't find it anywhere.

Where did it go? What else is needed. i have searched the forum and google and found nothing specific.

unlike the previous versions, this will actually integrate into your TEXT Messages.. so when you go to initiate a new text message, you should be hitting 'menu' on the bottom right, then it will offer you the selection of sending a picture or video... and go from there..

in the MMS Configuration make sure you have the Verizon Wireless server settings -
Server name: Verizon Wireless
Gateway: leave blank
Port Number : 80
Server Address: http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms

hope this helps ya.

Got ya... I kind of thought this since when receiving a message the header comes in as a regular text message. I figured there was more to the setup since taping download generates an error message.

But, where is the MMS configuration located, looked but cant find it.

Still kind of new to all this but learning fast.

FOUND IT! ALL WORKS WELL, THANKS...

When I click mark all as read it goes to mms settings. Will not send even after setting up configuration setting. I will continue to test.

Anyone have any idea how to get this to work with Alltel carrier? Ive lost my ability to send or recive mms after flashing with PPCkitchen. Alltel is telling me that there is a patch available from HTC to resolve it, but it seems to just be the same update that was being sent around by alltel...any ideas?...

I installed the arcsoft cab linked above, and presto - everything is cootchie kool. As a side note - I'm also running the HTC Home Plugin thing - the one that has the weather, and the 6 buttons - and was also running X-Button - and found that things were really sluggish. I removed X-Button - and everything is MUCH better. Memory is reasonable, response is better, etc. If you have that app - you may want to try removing it if experiencing poor performance too.

Will this work with the USCC network? if so, what are the settings?

I installed that cab and it still wasn't working...having said that I HAVE sent some pic messages to myself now...but most ppl I know are now asleep, so testing is gonna have to wait till it NOT 2am...

Fo some reason the server info WAS NOT changed with that cab so
I had to change some of the settings around though:

SERVER NAME: Alltell MMSC
GATEWAY: blank
PORT:8080
SERVER ADD: http://mms-mt.alltel.net/servlets/mms
CONNECT VIA: Alltel Wireless (also been told "The Internet" works too)
SIZE LIMIT: 300k
WAP: 2.0

Lemmie know if this helps anyone else...and Ill post tomorrow with a follow up...

Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7

I have a basic question here: Is this just a highfaluting text message? I don't have a text message package on my xv6800. Would using this "mms" be considered a text message and thus incur the 25 cent charge per use for texting?

Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7

if i install this and i have the MMS from the ROM, this installs over the 4.0, does it erase it? And then if i uninstall MMS 5, does 4 come back? thanks
