Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7
For those of us who are still a little new to this, some help please.
I have read through the thread and know there is more to this install (from the .cab) than just adding it and everything works. I installed the cab, it installs fine but the MMS isn't in 'messaging'. Can't find it anywhere. Where did it go? What else is needed. i have searched the forum and google and found nothing specific. VX6800 Verizon, no2chem 5069-k |

Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7
Anyone have any idea how to get this to work with Alltel carrier? Ive lost my ability to send or recive mms after flashing with PPCkitchen. Alltel is telling me that there is a patch available from HTC to resolve it, but it seems to just be the same update that was being sent around by alltel...any ideas?...

Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7
I installed that cab and it still wasn't working...having said that I HAVE sent some pic messages to myself now...but most ppl I know are now asleep, so testing is gonna have to wait till it NOT 2am...
Fo some reason the server info WAS NOT changed with that cab so I had to change some of the settings around though: SERVER NAME: Alltell MMSC GATEWAY: blank PORT:8080 SERVER ADD: http://mms-mt.alltel.net/servlets/mms CONNECT VIA: Alltel Wireless (also been told "The Internet" works too) SIZE LIMIT: 300k WAP: 2.0 Lemmie know if this helps anyone else...and Ill post tomorrow with a follow up... |
Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7
I have a basic question here: Is this just a highfaluting text message? I don't have a text message package on my xv6800. Would using this "mms" be considered a text message and thus incur the 25 cent charge per use for texting?

Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7
if i install this and i have the MMS from the ROM, this installs over the 4.0, does it erase it? And then if i uninstall MMS 5, does 4 come back? thanks

Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7
OK I built a ROM without the MMS installed. I then installed this cab. I have yet to test the MMS functionality but I am having a serious problem with my SMS. When I try to type in any information the program starts trying to input words. Kinda like the predictive text. I turned off the the predictive text and all settings that auto correct under the input settings just to make sure that was not my issue. What happens is that I can begin typing a word and another word will show up greyed out. If I continue to type the word I want to type and hit space it enters the greyed out word and the word I typed together. The only way to get it not to input the greyed out word is to hit the back arrow key. This is very annoying and causes texting to take twice as long. Has anyone else experienced this and what is the fix?
Also in my regular email if I click menu and MARK ALL AS READ it sends me to MMS option screen instead of marking all emails as read. I did check in the kitchen to add mark all as read to the options under menu. Both of these problems are very annoying. Please let me know if any of you know a fix. Thanks in advance for your help. Edit: I found the answer to the text entry problem posted in the 19588 Kitchen. The answer was posted by Indagroove. Quote:
I am still looking for an answer to the mark all as read issue posted above. |

If someone could post there registry details for you then you can just add the entrys you need to get it working. You may also try installing DCD's carrier cab. I attached it below.

Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7
Yes it does work for sprint u have to have a picture mail account
|
Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7
So you are saying this arcsoft cab is allowing you to send and receive picture messages? If so you are about to be bombarded by 100's of people who want to know your setup. No one has had arcsoft work on there phone because Sprint has picture messaging blocked.

Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7
I'm having a problem where I am not able to sent a MMS message. I'm on Verizon and have set up the connection as stated above and am running Arcsoft 5.0.31.11. I also ran DCD cab to configure it for the Verizon network. When I attempt to send a MMS I get a message stating either "Error: ok" or "Warning! Unable to send your message(s). Your message(s) will remain in the Drafts folder." Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7
I have verizon VX6800. I installed the cab and made sure the setting are right, but it still won't download an MMS. I only have old MMS messages, will it only be able to download new ones? When I click "Download" in an MMS it just kicks me back out to the list of all my MMS/SMS headers.

Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7
Hey Guys!
I am new to all this stuff and have absolutely no clue what any of it means I just noticed today after purchasing the phone that MMS could not be sent.. Definitely sucks, but I was just wondering if anyone could help me install this CAB. Again, I have no clue what to do. I am running on the Telus Network (Carrier) and would like to beable to send/receive MMS (Picture) messages Add me on MSN or PM here thewitchisdead@tough.com Thanks! |
Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7
Welcome, first we need to know which carrier device you have? VZW or Sprint? And do you have a data package or at least data not blocked? I dont think Sprint uses Arcsoft although I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. I do know VZW uses Arcsoft because I have VZW.
So if you are with VZW then you need to have a data package, install the Arcsoft cab and then configure Arcsoft for VZW. You can google those settings or search here on the board. They are likely in this same thread also but I didnt look. If you cannot find them just lemme know. |
Re: Arcsoft MMS cab - 5.0.31.7
Hey, Thanks for the quick reply!
I'm actually located in Canada and use the Telus Network Using the HTC S640 (Iris) haha forgot to mention that. I do have a Data plan that includes MMS texting :) Could I just use the CAB from verizon? And also, how do I install the cab, haha sorry.. I'm new to all of this and just really need MMS :P |
