USB Charging with 5060 build

1 Attachment(s)
Hi folks. I haven't had time to work on development of my own in a while due to work and a newborn, so I've been using the official kitchen based on no2chem's 5060 build.

I'm wondering if people have having worse than usual charging performance via usb than with previous wm6/wm6.1 bases. USB charging is always going to be much slower than AC charging, but as an example, I connected my 6800 to my laptop via usb last night and went to bed. 10 hours later it had only gone from 37% to 67%. No applications were running on the 6800.

With previous wm6 builds, usb charging could fully charge the device in less than 3 hours.

I've tried this on 3 different 6800 devices, all running 3.35 radio and a rom built from the 5060 kitchen and all have the same results, so it is not the hardware, but rather something in this build.

Anyone else experiencing this? Is it a known issue and if so, has anyone determined what is causing it?

Here is the selections from the kitchen build.

I think I am having the same results from the same setup. I also have a new sprint titan (upgraded recently from kitchen updated 6700) and upgraded to the 3.35 radio and the 5060 kitchen and I am having worse results. I have had normal usage and no problems, but after a day of busy usage using gps, camera, internet and phone... my phone went nuts. I now have a hot phone that does not charge and always claims it has a dead battery. Anytime the battery is installed, the phone feels warm and the cellular portion shuts down, then the phone shuts off. Also, the charging behavior is very erratic along with the LED light indications. I find it hard to believe that a new phone would have charging problems on a stock ROM, but with the basic kitchen i built with just a few hacks I feel like it might be from the kitchen. Any ideas or other solutions?? I took the phone to sprint and they said it was a bad battery but the second battery had the same results. Thanks

i have never had any of these problems and i had to charge my titan via usb because my charger broke. all i can think of is make sure you removed the battery for about a minute and hard reset these sound like really weird problems.

thanks for the response. I had removed my battery for hours due to the heat of the battery and the red upper right LED flashing. Even my blue bluetooth light lights up at times while my charger is hooked up. I am afraid to press this issue with sprint at this poing due to my radio upgrde and flash/5060 kitchen.

you may want to flash back to stock and take it to sprint it sounds like a hard ware problem and if it is that then it should be covered under warranty or insurance if you have it.i had a case where my battery just died. like phone would not charge turn on or anything but a new battery fixed it right up.

Do the microwave trick that was posted somewhere on here.....at ur own risk i have never tried it.....cut USB cord hook connections to 9 volt battery and stick it in the microwave for 3 seconds.....kills all the memory.....walla sprint will replace the phone.....as I said though TRY AT YUR OWN RISK!!!!

That works too....but they can get out of bootloader if they have any comon sense and then they will see you have a cusom rom.....this frys all the memory....no trace of anything
