Official Verizon ROM
 

I have an Alltel 6800 and just bought my wife a Verizon 6800 today. I have installed 2 OEM ROM upgrades since I got my Alltel unit. I did some searches here and looked at both Verizon and HTC's site - it appears that Verizon has not updated the official ROM for the VX6800 since they released it. I just want to verify if this is the case.

If it is, is there any word on a newer ROM from them in the near future? I would be willing to do a modded ROM if its going to be a while. Here radio is many versions back compared to mine.

woo, ok now that thats out of the way.

no chance in hell will verizon ever, EVER release a ROM or Radio update.
Guaranteed.
Any way they can extort more money out of you to force you to use they own crappy GPS system, they can, and will, continue to do so.

Hey Nick,

Not sure if ephone1 is looking at doing the same thing, but I would like to have a copy of Verizon's ROM so if my phone s**ts the bed I can flash back to the original THEN take it back. If such a ROM is out there, can someone post a link... THANKS!!!

Original Verizon ROM links in my sig...
highly unlikely VZW will release any upgraded ROM in the near future.
thats why everyone is flashing Sprint's ROM, with total success..
read through the forums here, and flash away..

I think VZW sets their quarters by the Myan or Aztek calender... I won't hold my breath...

theyre just counting on the world ending in 2012 so they wont have to worry about customer backlash.

I flashed my phone using sprints rom version 3.35 and I have had absolutly NO problems...=D>

I didn't jump on it right away cuz I was a little gun shy but I figured what the hell...they haven't steered me wrong yet, if they say it works I only need to do it right and it should work....

so don't hold ur breath waiting on an official rom from verizon they are on "BP" time and it will probably come never before it comes late...
