Confused, Please Advise
I would like to first explain that I have tried to search the forums but was unable to find anyone that has had my problem. I have a friend that was successfully able to flash his phone with an alltel stock rom (3.35.671.9). I tried the same procedure and it stuck at 12% for more than an hour. The only thing he did was run the exe file downloaded from the HTC site and made sure there was an activesync connection. My friend bought his phone through alltel and I bought my phone off of ebay and activated to work with alltel. When I turn my phone on it shows the alltel logo.
My Phone gray case no logo on phone rom: 2.14.671.3 radio: 1.40.00 carrier: alltel Friends Phone (before new rom) black case alltel logo on phone rom: 2.14.671.3 radio: 1.40.00 carrier: alltel Please advise on what I can do to upgrade to this newer version. At this time I'm not interested in a custom rom. I appreciate any feedback. Thank you. |

Re: Confused, Please Advise
Ok, I extracted the RUU_Signed.nbh from the .exe and renamed it to TITAIMG.nbh. I copied that file to a fresh 2gig SD card, nothing else on it. I turned off the phone and turned it back on...just booted up normal. I searched the forum for flashing from SD and they mentioned holding down the power button and camera button and pushing the reset button. I did that, now I'm at the tricolor screen showing TITA100 SPL-1.06.0000 CPLD-9. I do not have the phone connected via usb, should I? It has been sitting there for about 10 minutes, no changes. Thank you for your help.

Re: Confused, Please Advise
I have went back to ebay and checked the details of the sale. This is what was listed. Do I need to run the titan relocker before I can flash the rom from the SD card? Thank you for your help.
You are bidding on a BRAND new "UNLOCKED" HTC PPC-6800 PocketPC Smartphone for ALLTEL Service |
Re: Confused, Please Advise
I ran the relocker and then attempted to run the exe rom for 3.35.671.9 again from alltel. Now I get an error at 12% that says Error [294] Invalid Vendor Id. Then it reboots the phone and I'm back where I started from. I'm just not sure my phone will allow any rom updates. I would appreciate any feedback. Thank you.

Re: Confused, Please Advise
Install the Olipro 2.40 hard-SPL unlocked bootloader, then run the Alltell .exe.

Re: Confused, Please Advise
Thank you bakntyme, I was able to load the new alltel rom after unlocking. My issue now is I can't activate the phone for the alltel service. I wrote all the settings down that was in the upgrading guide except for the security because I couldn't find it. I have edited the information and put my numbers back in. I try to call *228 and press 3 but it will not activate. I have called tech support and they are unable to help me and advise I visit an alltel store. I would like to know how to do it myself if it is possible just in case there may be a newer rom update in the future. Thank you again for your assistance.

Re: Confused, Please Advise
I don't use Alltel, but my guess is that you might need an A-KEY from tech support.
Did you enter both the Mobile Directory Number (MDN) and MSID in the NAM settings screen of EPST? You didn't see the Security settings in EPST because that page will only display in Edit mode after entering your MSL, not in View mode. Of course, if Alltel tech support is like Sprint's, you might try calling back until you get a tech that knows how to solve your problem, or ask for your call to be escalated. |
Re: Confused, Please Advise
I double checked what I wrote down and made sure I updated the Mobile Directory Number (MDN) and MSID in the NAM settings screen. I called Alltel back and luckily got a lady that knew how to program the phone. The MSL is different than 000000 but I had written that down as well and typed that in instead. I had to change my Home SID/NID and once I reset the phone I was able to receive/send calls. I really appreciated your help on fixing this.
