Okay just got my xv6800 today and the service is really bad =((((((((( in places where i used to get 3 bars evdo with my 6700 i get barely 1 of 1x. Whats the deal do i need a radio fw?

What he referred you to is a listing of all of the PRL's that are available. PRL is "preferred roaming list". The only way updating your PRL might help you is if you are having poor service when roaming. Even then, there are no guarantees updating will help.

Okay. thanks. I just did the normal prl update with *228 and unfortunately it didn't help. is there a radio out that can help? ( lol sorry not sure if radio is the correct word total noob again)

Yes, if you just got the phone and haven't done anything to it, there are several new radios, actually. The newest 2 are from sprint and alltel. Both enable gps and rev-a. The alltel one is slightly newer, and reportedly has faster satellite locking times (good thing), but that still seems anecdotal, and may just be placebo.

Either way, there are really good tutorials for upgrading your phone. You'll have to unlock, get a new radio, and get a new rom. Check the stickies in "HTC Titan Upgrades" for good tutorials. If you follow the directions, you shouldn't hit any snags, but if you do, keep reading, then post your question if you can't figure it out.

GRRRRRRr me and th 6800 arent geetting off to a great start the Internet doesnt connect.....any help?
