Can't get into bootloader mode (help!!!)

I put a rom I made with the official kitchen on my phone and it goes to the splash screen and doesn't go any further. I'm assuming something about the ROM I built was broken. I figure I'd put another ROM on like no2chem 5060 via microSD slot.

When I go into bootloader mode (camera + power + reset) the screen goes black. Nothing.

I've tried hard resetting and taking the battery out.

Am I done?
Please don't flame, I searched hard.

When you plug it to computer does it try to search for new drivers? have you tried to reflash stock 3.35? check out -> http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20882

I'm not sure how I'd flash any rom. I can't connect via Activesync and I can't go the microsd route either.

Just start up the RUU - if it recognizes your device, it will flash it. Otherwize it will tell you that it doesn't recognize your device or sumthing like that... dont know the exact verbage.

It tells me I have a connection error

ERROR [260] : CONNECTION

Before it asked me to install new drivers.

sounds like you might need a replacement... perhaps someone else has another suggestion, but you have done a lot that was suggested in the thread i linked to...

i briefly scanned thru it again and you might try another battery if you have an extra, or flash from sD card, but other than that, um, looks like you might have device in "download mode"

It's asking for drivers for Data Interface. How would I install those? Does anyone have some?

it should install directly from your phone. here is a process i would do take your battery out for about a minute or 2 then put it back in and hard reset then try and put it in bootloader. and if possible can i get at least close to verbati of what it says.

OK I took the battery out for 2 mins. Hard reset. Then I pressed (camera + power + reset). Screen is completely black. That's it.

You're in download mode.

It seems like this is happening more and more. The bootloader on your phone is gone. There is currently no fix for this at this time. Sorry but you're going to have to get a replacement. You have insurance, right?

Yes, TEP. What do I need to tell them?

I'm reading some more and someone thinks they can fix these with something called JTAG interface but there's nothing going on with it yet.

Yes i do believe he has insurance, and mrbawm would you care to elaborate on how you ended up with the dreaded "download mode"

my understanding is the JTAG is still a work in progress, but i've seen mention of it in a few places, in fact there was someone looking for the donation of a mogul in this state in a thread right here on PPCgeeks that I read recently...

*edit*

here's where it was -> http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...815#post243815

Re: Can't get into bootloader mode (help!!!)

Yeah but the JTAG is an unrealistic solution. It involves people actually opening up their devices... lol.

Anyway, if you have TEP, I'd honestly just call Asurion and pay the 50 dollars. You're gonna have much less hassle than dealing with Sprint. Asurion was real painless when my 6700 went out... at least as far as getting me another 6700. The fact that the 6700 I got was still jacked up is besides the point. ;)

Thanks so much for everyone's help.

Just be careful with the kitchen. I think G'Reloc didn't run properly and it produced a broken ROM.

Re: Can't get into bootloader mode (help!!!)

You shouldn't need to pay the insurance deductible. Take it to a Sprint Repair store and just say, truthfully of course, "It won't turn on". They should replace it.

Re: Can't get into bootloader mode (help!!!)

This one for some reason doesn't seem the same to me. I definitely have never gotten anywhere near a splash screen and a broken rom will not get you stuck in download mode. I think this one can probably be repaired, but i'm not sure what it would need at this point.
