titan_exitBL sort of working Until next reboot

Hello all I have looked around and I am unable to find an answer to my query would appreciate any help that could be offered. I bought my wife a Sprint Mogul, or Titan PPC 6800 off of Ebay. I put the new official sprint 3.35 Rom on it without issue. All is well until I try and reboot the phone. Everytime it reboots it goes into the Tri-color boot loader. I did research on this forum and found the titan exit bootloader app. I used that program to get out of the Boot Loader and the phone loads up. The problem is that each time I reboot the phone it goes back into the Boot Loader and I have to run the titan exit boot loader again. Has anyone encountered this that could offer some friendly advice.

Have you tried reloading the rom?

Yes i have tried reloading the Rom. Loaded the Sprint Official Rom 3.35 3 times nows. Result is the same with the boot loader coming up each time I reboot. Again titan_exitbl gets it out of the boot loader and loads up the OS, until the next reboot.

my guess is you have the wrong bootloader. You need SPL 2.40 ;)

Re: titan_exitBL sort of working Until next reboot

2.40 is a custom Non-Stock bootloader. Thats why I am wondering if the bootloader on this phone
SPL 2.06.0000 is a custom boot loader.

I have never loaded a custom ROM on this phone or unlocked it, But its purchased from Ebay so dont know much about what was done to it prior to my ownership. So does anyone know if 2.06.0000 is a custom boot loader or a stock bootloader. HTC.com Has almost worthless for finding info on.

it's the stock one i believe. I'm actually quite sick of HTC, they can't answer any questions I have for them. They're beginning to remind me of MS.

I read that the newest rom will work with the 2.40 bootloader, if i were you, i'd go ahead and punch out the bootloader as the cause. I'm not 100% certain that's what it is, however.

Personally, I was running a custom ROM beforehand, i upgraded to SPL 2.4, flashed official, flashed custom. I have had no problems (except the one time my phone went into a reset loop...i assume that was caused by something i installed though, because as soon as it installed it started going crazy (good thing i auto-backup every day)

Have you seen any issues/or heard of any going from Stock Rom 3.35 to Custom boot loader 2.40 olipro. I assume thats what your talking about. I dont mind going to custom bootloader, just weird that stock bootloader would present this problem.

And yes I did call HTC they were worthless, told me to take the phone back, which I tried but they would only offer me an HTC Touch in return, which my wife hates that phone.

I personally haven't heard of any issues, but I would definitely search here and xda to make sure. Read all the threads regarding the new rom and upgrading if you can, i know there have been certain issues present with certain things, so it might be worthwhile to take a read

I to am having the same issue. Every time I reboot the device it boots to the bootloader screen. I have found that if i plug in my headphones and press the soft reset button the phone will reboot into Win mob. I have also found that I am unable to sync the phone to any PC. The phone is not recognized, thus activesync does not see it.

If i were you i would get the titan relocker back on the phone , reflash to sprint 3.35 with the stock locker on , load up all the sprint stuff, then go and reload the 2.40locker, then introduce yourself back to reflashing the stock 3.35 and soft reset see if it does it , if that does work, load a custom rom and see if it that takes care of it , if you dont want the custom rom , then go back to 3.35 roms , and see then if you sift reset you are good to go.

did anyone ever figure out a solution to this problem?

I was running the latest "test" sprint radio along with No2chems rom on my Titan, however anytime I press soft reset in, it'll load the bootloader. I can of course get out of it with the titan_exitbl.exe.... but it is really annoying.

also, mine will reboot properly if I have something inserted into the USB slot! Doesn't have to be headphones, can be just a USB cord.

I've tried changing out to the latest alltel rom, didn't help... tried DCD's rom, didn't help... I have read that I should not run the "relocker" on any roms that have GPS, so I don't want to try that ;)

Re: titan_exitBL sort of working Until next reboot

Just a quick update... after messing around I had an idea... I connected the USB headphones so I could actually do a soft reset that works... But this time, instead I held down the power/cam when I did it (so it would normally load the boot loader...) my thinking was that it might trick it into not loading it. Sure enough, it worked. Now when I hit soft reset, it does just that. No more boot loader unless I hold down those buttons.

Very strange... like the phone got tricked into thinking the buttons were always pressed down on restart.

Anyways, hopefully this will help others that might come across this issue.
