VZW 1X - roam on Sprint EVDO
 

I have VZW and only 1x service. Sprint has EVDO service here.
I would if possible roam on the Sprint towers for data.

I have loaded Altel 30031.prl and the roaming icon is present and it seems calls and data connections are good, but only 1X.

I Have loaded Sprint 60711.prl and the EV icon shows but then a connection error and back to 1X which calls and data connections are good, but only 1X.

I am back to VZW 50989.prl for now.

Anyone know how to roam the EVDO from Sprint?

Sprint and Verizon do not have an agreement to roam with EVDO on each others networks, only 1X. Sprint does however, have an agreement with Alltel, so you will get EVDO speeds in Alltel areas.

Unfortunetly, I think your stuck at 1X.

Thanks for the info. I guess so. I am still waiting for EVDO here. Its been over 2yrs. now. They say by the end of the year. Seems like their motto.

Hey, if you tell VZ to give me EVDO roaming from Sprint, I'll tell Sprint to give you EVDO roaming from VZ. :P
