Alltel PPC 6800 & Official ROM Update Status
 

For those of you who have Alltel and are curious if/when we'll get an "official ROM" like the Sprint user's...I have a "non-answer" to give to you. In typical Alltel fashion, they will be coming to the game significantly later.

Here is their reply to a question I posed to them 2 days ago after the release of Sprint's update:

"We are working with HTC for an update to the HTC 6800 that will allow the use of GPS. Unfortunately, we don't have any release dates (estimated or otherwise) that are available to the public."

No big deal for me - I've been using the leaked ROM for awhile & am going to put DCD's latest on shortly. Just thought I'd pass the word for anyone who might've been waiting for an "official" status from Alltel.

Hmmm.

As far as I am concerned Sprint, Verizon, and Alltel can forward all of their future releases care of no2chem & Dcd for further engineering & implementation before releasing for public use...
