Mail Attachments on Storage Card

I used to be able to set the following registry values to force Outlook to store my emails *and* attachments on the storage card:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Inbox\Attachments]
"AttsDir"="Inbox.mst"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Inbox\Settings]
"AttachPath"="\\Storage Card\\Inbox.mst\\Mail Attachments\\"
"PropertyPath"="\\Storage Card\\Inbox.mst\\"
Unfortunately, the new 3.35 ROM doesn't allow me to do this anymore. Instead, it creates a folder called "Storage Card" and then renames the actual storage card as "Storage Card2".

So two questions:

1. Can anyone else confirm that this happens, or is it possible that it's just something I'm overlooking.

2. Assuming it's a bug, can anyone suggest a solution, or at least a cause?

Just enable the option in your outlook settings.

"Forcing" it will only create problems for you when the phone is off

Oops, I guess should have been more specific... It's not just the attachments, but the message store itself that I want moved (I have a lot of mail). Otherwise, I agree that your solution is best.

The kicker is that the above settings definitely worked with 2.17 and earlier.

I'm using 6.1 but the same key changes made in the Registry Tweaks thread (#21), work on my ROM, but the syntax is not the same as what you have posted above. Maybe you're not putting it in correctly?

Got a request. I went looking for that registry tweak 21 and wasn't sure exactly the tweak was since I only have 17 topics in the registry tweaks thread.

Any pointing to the specific text would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Mail Attachments on Storage Card

It's in the first post #21?

Quote:

21-Save Attachments or the Whole Email on your SD Card

The Key in WM6 changed from WM5. In WM6 it is:

HKLM\System\Inbox\Settings

For Attachments add "AttachPath" value="\Storage Card\Inbox\Attachments" datatype="string"

For the rest of the email add "PropertyPath" value="\Storage Card\Inbox" datatype="string"

For the paths above to work, you need to have the Inbox folder and Attachments subfolder created already. You must reboot for them to take effect.

Exactly the same problem here. After the ROM update for some reason adding those registry entries renamed my storage card to storage card2, which messed with a few other programs that were installed on the card (shortcuts were wrong).

I ended up renaming the Storage Card folder (which now just contained an Inbox folder) to Storage Card1, then searched the Registry for "Card2" and replaced those instances with "Card". Soft reset and all is well again. I am content with just saving attachments to the card.
