need noob instuctions for switching to Rev A
 
I just updated my phone and I keep getting just 1x for my data speed. So I started looking around in the forums to see what my problem was and I know know that I have to go into my setting and enable it. I am a noob so I am wondering if somone can tell me step by step what to do and include any files if I need them. Thanks so much for help. In know that you are talking about this all over the forums but nobody has done a complete guide yet. Thanks.

read this guide steps 1 and 2 will get you the info you need to start

after that

dail ##778#
you will come to screen to put in your MSL number.
After that you have 3 options, choose Edit
Now you have a screen with Display at top, now at bottom you should see View info, click, in the list you should see Data Parameters about 1/3 down list choose this. Now you should see REV A second on list is it disable or enable, if disable use bottom at right to change, now it will reboot

Had same problem as op, this is a confirmed fix for me right after official rom update. Repped!

Edit: For some reason on my speed test, i got 750kbps down as my first test, and then 245kbps from then on. wtf?!

so much for the confirmed fix there huh? ya there's been talk about this being an HTC or Sprint bug...maybe the setting is backwards. most people that have "enabled" the RevA setting have gotten slower speeds; holds true for me also. its actually enabled by default, so you shouldnt have to do anything to it.

Mines was not enabled.

ya i knew i should have explained that. I meant that RevA is enabled by default, not the setting for it. sorry about that.

Thanks a million. I boosted your rep for you. It wlrked great, it still says 1x but I thinks its because I m in a bad area. It does say that the Rev A is enabled. The only thing to I had to figure out was that the program to get the unlock code is case sensitive but once i figured that out it was great. Thanks.

I enabled it yesterday and after a couple of hours my windows live went crazy... i kept getting errors about Windows live can not sign in and the sign in screen did not want to go away and I soft reset the phoen and ket getting the same issue and my phone kept starting up in safe mode(SPB Pocket Plus) wtf is that all about?!!? I kept getting exe. errors... then I had to hard reset... now its fine I THINK...

This maysound crazy but when i dial ##778# on my dialpad of my phone it does nothing. am i missing a step. i dont think im a total retard...

dont know if it matters but im still running the old 2.17 ROM is there a diff code for this ROM?

ahh, its cool. I'm still learning.

It does seem a bit slower, but that could be my location. This sucks. lol

Do you have a custom dialer skin. I think that some codes will not work if you do.

Just run \Windows\EPST.exe and it will get you to the screen you need regardless of the carrier.

so im confused now. is it supposed to be enabled or disabled by default? Mine was listed as "disabled" but from what im gathering your trying to tell me that "disabled" really means enabled? ive gotten the same speed results either way

it should read "disabled" by default

that's what you want.

it looks like they messed up when they were writing the code. when it says "disabled", rev. a is really enabled. and vice versa. it looks like most people should just keep everything the way it is.

i have got the same speeds regardless of enabled or disabled.
actually had same results before upping the new rom.
only thing is the www.mobilespeedtest.com site does not show upload speed. and i an not figure out how to use the www.speedtest.net site without teathering to a pc first.

It doesn't say disabled, it says "disable", which I take to mean that it's already enabled and is asking if you want to disable it. Think open/close. When something is open you are asked to close it. In this case it is enabled and you are being asked to disable it. I've never gotten fast Rev A speeds with the 3.16 ROM, but with 3.35 my speeds are slightly faster when it reads disable.

<s>I've read this and the wording makes sense but maybe it is area specific. I was getting 226/26kbps on disable now I'm getting 531/101kbps with it on enable. I'll do some more testing just to very though.</s>

Edit: Oh no I set it back and set it by the window 1039kbps/207kbps LEAVE IT ON DISABLE FOLKS (aka don't touch it)

my mogul after reprogaming it i have only one item 'packet dial string' no evdo rev a

I have updated to the new rom and when I go to edit my settings mine only has one line data packet string value #777

Yup mine is missing too...I have been searching the last couple of days for this. I have included pics of my Device Info, and my Data Param. screen...What's going on..how come some of us have it and some do not?

I just got word that if you used Sprite Restore that it will strip the REV A setting out of your EPST settings...Hard reset on the way :(

oh yea...no RevA setting. All i did was install my stuff, reinstalled with contacts with PIM....and no RevA option. I am on verizon, does that make a difference?
