ROMUpdateUtility has stopped working / Error 260
 

How do you guys fix this for the new rom...i tried both unlock and relocked bootloaders but still get same error on 3 different computers. 2 vista and 1 xp. Did a relock and back on firmware 2.17. Please help.

When I first started my upgrade I got the same 260 error, at that point what you should do is unplug your phone then wait a few seconds and just plug it back in, then run the utility again. Try that and see, I also did it on a vista system and didn't have any other problems

P.S. Phone does not have to be re-locked

Yes i read about the unpluging and repluging..it didnt work for me.

Fixed it! It seems theres a problem with the RUU on the original update rom. Finally got the new rom on my mogul heres how:

-Get the 2.4 unlocker on the phone.
-Use winrar to extract the RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3.35.651.2_RS_TITAN_3.35.04_4 350H_SPCS_AM_Ship.exe rom to get the NBH file.
-Then use the 2.4 unlocker Rom update utility to install the NBH from it.
-After install is done, just run the exitbootloader from 2.4 unlocker.

Glad you got it fixed, its just amazing how inconsistant all this flashing can be at times, one person may get it done with no problems while someone else takes forever and a day to get it right when both users doing the exact same thing. Like in my case I just downloaded the rom file and didn't have to extract anything. I just ran the .exe and it was good to go up until I got the 260 error just unpluged and than ran it again then that was it.

260 Error Code Trick

I tried two different computers with no luck, my device would restart and do nothing. I would proceed to do a soft reset to get it back to windows.

Here's what I figured out: When the devices resets and goes to the tri bar screen, unplug it from your computer and plug it back in. This will tell your phone to establish the USB connection...

It's that simple!

i downloaded a hotfix for internal gps from htc website for Sprint touch pro 2. after i tried to install it the phone went off and now it won't even power on or go to boot loader.. any suggestions on how i can fix this i was using Mighty Rom 6.5 with htc sense 2.1

I don't know how you got to here in this thread for your TP2?

I am not aware of any hotfix for gps on the sprint TP2.
I am curious as to what file you downloaded and possibly bricked your phone.
By linking and showing us what file you actually downloaded and tried to install will help us determine if anything can be done.
Someone had mentioned something similar to this irc and results were a brick because the file was for gsm. Sprint is CDMA.
