New ROM Freezes and enters tricolor screen
 

I am trying to install the new rom from Sprint.

I downloaded and began installing the new rom. It will go to 11% and then it will sort of restart and enter into the tricolor screen mode.

I have been able to reinstall the older rom, that works fine but the new rom never gets past 11%.

I have tried using the "relocker", but that gets it into the tricolor screen and freezes.

I am unsure how to work this and any help would be appreciated.

The exact same thing happened to me. I went to the HTC USA site and read the troubleshooting page. It recommended that you unplug the phone from the USB cable, restart the PC, restart the phone and run th RUU again. I did, and it worked perfectly. One thing though, after the update was completed successfully, my phone was deactivated. When I tried to make a call, I got a recording stating that my phone was not activated. I called sprint and got phone reactivated. Strange. All is well now. Hope this helps.

Just leave the phone at the tri-color screen, connect to PC and re-run the update. Make sure the screen says USB after you reconnect the cable to ensure proper connection.

This should be in the installation discussion thread. Many people have reported this problem

First I apologize for posting outside of where it should have been,

Secondly, I unplugged the device, did a soft and hard reset, replugged the device and attempted to reinstall. I will try restarting my PC and then see what happens.

This is supposed to happen. The update process reboots like 3 times... it takes a loooooooooooooooong time. ~30 minutes

I need help for mine, too.
Never did anything before. Never unlocked.
Downloaded the official exe file, update was in the middle, but the phone was freezed. I reset than stuck in bootloader.

TITA100 MFG
SPL-2.03.1000
CPLD-9

Then, I format my micro-sd to fat32, put the renamed TITAIMG.nbh to sd, use "Hold Power and Camera + Reset" to get into tricolor bootloader.

But, all I can get is bootloader, and it didn't load the new rom file. Please help me, what I can do to make it load the TITAIMG.nbh? Thanks!

I tried let it at bootloader, connect it to xp, re-run the update, then the update told me not the right update for this phone. Any help?

May I ask where to find the old rom? The rom here on ppcgeeks are most GPS + RevA roms. I am using Sprint Mogul. Thanks

Ok, well I tried all the solutions I could find, now when it reaches 11% it'll restart and then a message will pop up saying "Error [290] Invalid Command", There is no documentation how to resolve this problem. I think I am just going to go back to the old 2.17 rom and wait until the release is official. If there are any solutions I would love to hear them though.

I would try again, seems like you get farther every time.

Try a different USB port if you have 1 available. That might be the issue, or a power/screensaver setting
