what is dmrouter?

like the title ask, i have dmrouter on a custom rom and im just not sure what i can be used for, im used to wmrouter. i was also wondering if anyone knows of a program or configuration that would allow my ps3 to connect to my phone, the ps3 does not enjoy ad-hoc networks.

I'd like to know what dmrouter is and how to use it.... I can't seem to find anything on google that gives a website for/about it.

dmrouter is the file that puts the 6700 in diagnostics mode, for things like bitpim... nothing to do with internet sharing. Go get wmwifirouter if you want to share your internet from yer phone. As to the ps3, it should work with wmwifirouter just fine.

It has been said PS3 doesn't like connecting to ad-hoc networks, which is what wmwifirouter creates. You could just set up a wireless access point, and disable DHCP on it and connect to that with wmwifirouter.

I have never tried this, but theoretically you may be able to install ICS Control and use your phone as a USB modem with your PS3. I am not even sure if the PS3 would support a USB ethernet device, but ICS Control provide a bit more flexibility for situations like yours. If it does not work, hopefully Chainfire will figure out how to implement infrastructure mode and all of our problems will be resolved. :)
