What am I missing?

Starting with a virgin phone:

I am attempting to load a new ROM "noChem2's most recent"

I have read and followed all the dummy guides and there is something that is not working for me.

I run the unlocker "spl-2.40.Olipro" at that point I can not initiate an Activesync connection..

1.Do I run the exitbl.exe? If I do that I can not load anything with RUU, it goes to load, sits at 0% and tells me it faild and I need to recover..
2. Do I run the RUU? If I do that it tells me it can not find my phone
3.Do I continue to roll on the floor and throw fits?

I am sitting here waiting for a respone, hoping somebody is paying attention. Please help

What is your phone doing at the moment only booting to the bootscreen, if so then you can use RUU to download the rom and then the radio. If you get stuck in the bootscreen you need to Mtty it. Lots of posts on that.

how do I do that if, when in tricolor screen I can not establish an activesync connection..I can get out of the bootscreen no problem... I still cant figure out what I am doing wrong

I hve a fully OEM phone,

I finally found a post stating tht I need to do the 3.16 update first before the 2.40 unlocker will work.. I tried the 3.16 update but it would not run... I just downloaded from different site and will test my luck with that one..

I already have the relocker... I did this exact same thing before but I must have had a slightly corrupted file... it would not move from 0%, I am officially at 6%... progress is being made.. we will see how it goes. once I get to 3.16 I want to load NoChem2's custom rom.. I should only need to run the 2.40 unlocker and then RUU with his ROM right?

yea ill be on all night so ill be here to help ya. im currently running the newest one he made. i also have one i created off his base just with a few apps in it. i jus havent had time to flash to it.b4 you flash to the custom rom make sure your normal phone operations work.

right on man, I appriciate it.. I just want a simple rom that eliminates bugs, gets good batt, gps and that is about it... Figure I need to learn this stuff sooner or later...

Okay man, Everything seems to be working great.. I got online, check voicemail... no contacts so I can't call anybody but voicemail worked..

then i would flash the 5047 rom the battery on the 5048 and 5049 is debateable on whether its the same because of the updated battery driver but im near a charger all day so it doesnt matter to me but i did notice the great battery life on these roms.
