Question pertaining to new ROM/Radio/Unlocker
 

Hey all, I've tried looking through all the threads in this new subforum and I'm getting kind of confused. Last time I messed with my mogul had to be.. a while ago.

I'm running 1.2 olipro, radio 1.4, D 2.16, I built a custom rom in dcd's old kitchen (I run vista), not sure what version. Anyway the semester has calmed down (read:spring break) and I'm looking to cook myself up a new ROM, come on here and see all this new stuff about olipro 2.4, radios in the 3.xx with GPS enabled, and all kinds of jazz.

Basically my question is, if I don't care about GPS, what should I do as far as a kitchen and/or ROM. I just want to be stable and fun, with good battery life (I have that now). Should I change to Olipro 2.4, etc

Should I just follow these directions? I know I sound like someone that hasn't tried to search, but it's pretty confusing given the mogul is my first PPC and the first time I've tried custom ROMs, etc, and it's all changed since the last time I did anything.
Thanks in advance to anyone that has the patience to explain some of this to me :)

I was in the same boat, I hadn't messed with my phone in a while, I even forgot what kitchen ROM I was using. But
I did end up with great battery life, and was happy to wait for the official ROM. But I got impatient, I did that step-by-step and have been happy with the results after some frustration getting it to install properly. I might "regress" to the official ROM if it ever comes out.

Point being, I would do the steps outlined, you end up with a phone that GPS if you need it, and REV A. My phone is as stable as it was before (ie not perfect), and battery life appears just as good.

if you don't care about GPS then 1.7 might be a good option as people have had mixed results wuth the 3.27 radio. 1.7 is meant to have wm6.1 which has some real benifits in text messages.

Also if you stay on your current radio you don't need to worry about ESN PRL etc
