WM 6.1 start bar icon overlay
 

I just got windows mobile 6.1 Install was great as it was well documented with instructions from this site. Thanks guys. The only problem ive seen, and it may just be a setting, is on the top right corner on the start bar where the icon for the battery is, there is another symbol that is ontop of it. "2/2" is what is over the battery icon. Any ideas?

BTW i love the improments with 6.1 over 6. Especially the threaded sms. Very nice feature. Its my phone phone to have this feature.

Sounds like the date is on your taskbar. Try opening a registry editor and changing the following key:

HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Shell/ TBOpt = 1

That should remove the date from the taskbar and clearly show your battery icon.

If you're using HTC Home 3/6-tab and the customizer, I think there is a setting to have the date displayed on all task bars..once that is done, it fixes the overlay. I may have confused something here, but I think that's the trick.

press and hold with stylus change the option to whatever its not on and it should show correctly without having to do reg edits

I tried every which way to change that to 'time' instead of battery since I use Ariel battery, and was unsuccessful no matter what I did concerning date/time in registry
