You'll have to forgive the feeling of incredulity. It's not aimed at you specifically. Some people have been waiting for features that were promised back in September. Dates have come and gone.

Me, I want the upgrade. But at this point I'm hard-pressed to take any date I see without a rather large chunk 'o salt.

I've gone from leaning in the direction of waiting for the update to thinking seriously about loading either the beta ROM or a cooked ROM. But not until I'm past this cold. Going through all of the steps required to make sure I get this right (including the simple act of backing up my phone) is probably not a good idea until my head and lungs are well and truly clear. I could sweet talk someone else in the family into doing the deed, though. Hmmm....

I've been being told a week to week and half from Alltel about the new ROM release from them+HTC. I told them we have heard this for 5 months so I would believe it when I see it. Either way there’s another speculate date for you.

I spent some time the other day emailing back and forth with Sprint support. I got very irate with the people that kept responding. I basically asked when the GPS update would be available for my phone. I got a response something along the lines of, "Please go to "(insert mogul direct link here)" and download version 2.09 and see if that doesn't resolve your issue."

Oh, I lost it... So finally, I was told to call them. I called them, and still no one knew what the hell I was talking about... I'm done... This whole waiting thing has really done me in. So, I'm not anticipating it. I canceled TeleNav, and I'm gonna leave it that way until I see this update.

On a much lighter not, I did switch to a SERO plan including:

• 500 Minutes
• Free Nights & Weekends (starting at 7pm)
• Free Mobile to Mobile (Sprint to Sprint & Sprint to Nextel)
• Unlimited wireless data (Sprint Power Vision [I'll be ready for Sprint TV when it comes to the Mogul])
• Nationwide Long Distance
• Nationwide Roaming
• Unlimited Text

All for only $30 a month... Including my insurance, it's $37.00... So... There ya go... Thank god for SERO or I would've been at AT&T's doorstep this weekend.

Um... funny thing about that.
The GPS beta rom was NOT packaged with 6.1- Rom 3.16 is still 6.0, just got some new tweaks in it.
Very shortly after 3.16 was leaked, however, a 6.1 was leaked for the Kaiser/Tilt.
No2chem and DCD got to work on trying to port 6.1 into our leaked 3.16 rom. Since it wasn't meant for our devices, some things didn't work at first, but no2chem has really fixed most of those bugs.

All this happened so quickly, however, that a lot of people didn't even try the 3.16 stock, and consequently never knew that it was again 6.0.

The article linked to above says that 6.1 was leaked with the latest update leaked from Sprint. However, the screen shot they show clearly displays the build number as "19716.1.0.0 No2", No2 indicating that its a No2Chem rom!!!

I love it how bloggers are so excited to post new information, they don't get their facts straight first!

Wow, that's the first time I've heard anything from Alltel. Interesting. I wouldn't hold your breath though.

I guess they dont know what they are talking about.
Its no2chems old rom with old xip. It is not leaked titan rom, it is a custom rom. Leaked rom still has wm6. In this rom wm6.1 was ported from other device by no2chem

I have a personal theory, all of the people who are the most serious about having GPS and Rev. A have shown up on this site or another and either contributed to making it happen or have benefited from someone who has been making it happen, thereby reducing the number of people who are the most likely to begin taking legal action. This would reduce the pressure on the carriers who may have misled their current and future customers to release an update in a timely manner. On the other hand, maybe HTC is just milking the carriers for all it can because some of the brightest on this and other sites have clearly demonstrated it can be accomplished almost perfectly with off the shelf software already. No2Chem and DCD, Thank you for satisfying this Sprint customer. I wonder if it would be worthwhile for Sprint to gather a small group of our brightest as an internal consulting staff with access to all necessary details and files to develop and troubleshoot "authorized releases" to satisfy the rest in a much more timely manner?

yea i emailed them back and fourth like 10 times throughout the weekend...they tried offering me a 1 TIME $25.00 credit to my account for the ROM not being released...i said hardly enough, then they said something along the lines of, if i want REV A then i may wanna look into getting a new devce when they become available...
