3.16 rom flashing from sd card HELP!!!
 

b4 ne one says ne thing plz read my post then u can flame i been all over the internet and this website for about 6 hrs now. so plz dont say search. i dont have a usb cable nor do i have activesync(i am away from home and im here for another 2 weeks). i dled the 3.16 rom extracted the 3.16 nbh. renamed it to TITAIMG.nbh. sent it to my email and dled to my phone via email. used the program "storagetool" to format my sd card from my phone with fat32. moved the TITAIMG.nbh to the root of my sd card from my phone(now remember the reason i did this method is i have no usb to transfer files or to format my sd card). i rebbot into bootloader mode(camera, power, soft reset). it flashs "no img file" and sits there doing nothing. i have never unlocked this phone. i always have used regular roms. what could be the problem plz help!!!

thanx for posting because this is the same method im thinking of using because it seems easier to me it will be the first flashed rom ive done so any extra info would be helpful.

im glad that if i get an answer this will help u from spending half a day pulling ur hair out. but if u have usb cable and activesync i would go that route. i juz am not able to do that at this point.

im not used to installing things through activesync so it seems difficult to me. but i have been reading and that is wht im going to try first but if that doesnt work then im going to things this way. i have been asking imcokeman about this style of doing things and i think i just asked him the same question you just asked so if i find out anything this will be the first place i go with the info.

You probably need to run the new unlocker to flash the new bootloader; the old bootloader is not compatible with version 3.x ROMs, and the new one is not compatible with version 2.x ROMs. If you have two SD cards you can DL the unlocker, rename the .nbh and put it on an SD, flash it, then switch cards and flash the ROM. Once you flash the unlocker you probably won't be able to boot up to copy the ROM .nbh to the card. If I were doing this I would want a third SD card with the old relocker on it, and maybe even a fourth with the 2.x ROM, in case the 3.x flash didn't work so I could reinstall the old bootloader and 2.x ROM.

i thought the instruction says u need to have a locked bootloader or the rom will not work. it also says if urs is unlocked u need to relock it. does ne one else think i should do what bakntyme says? if so i will but i juz want to make sure.

* You MUST have either a stock bootloader or a re-locked bootloader for this to work properly. otherwise, you'll get crashes during the upgrade process. The installer seems a little flakey, so just remember to have the titan_exitbl app if you get stuck in bootloader mode. then, just boot back into your old ROM and try again. you'll get there, mine failed four times before I got it right.
*search for ImCoKeMaN's re-locker on this forum to find the relocker SPL with accompanying titan_exitbl app.
I chose to install everything first (Sprint customizations), and then I did a hard reset and skipped the customizations. I also upgraded my PRL by downloading the 60611.prl file and using ##PRL# function to install it.

I have found that if you have issues where your device seems to be bricked and stuck in bootloader before completion of the update you can fix it by flashing via SD card.
To do this there are 3 steps:
First take the .exe file and open it with winrar. There will be a file 3.16.....nbh extract that and rename it to TITAIMG.nbh
Next format a microSD card with FAT 32 (required most are fat16 default) and copy the file TITAIMG.nbh to the root of the sd card with a card reader.
Finally place sdcard in device and reset into bootloader mode. The flash will proceed from the SD card and it should work fine. Enjoy!

so juz to be clear i dl the unlocker take the Hard_MFG_SPL_2.40_RUU_signed.nbh rename it to titaimg.nbh. put it in my phone boot up in bootloader mode. it will unlock my phone. then i take my card with the 3.16 rom which is renamed titaimg.nbh and go into bootloader mode and it should flash my firmware? is this correct?

ok i did wat i said above and my phone gets stuck at the gray loading... screen. y is this so? plz help. im getting closer though. so i went out and bought a sd card reader. i formated it using my laptip and took the img over and it worked. i guess the problem was i cant format on my phone and transfer the file from my phone to the card. u HAVE to use a card reader and format from the cpu. thanx everyone for ur help!!

Why would he need to relock? From what i have read (and what i did to get gps on my phone) i unlocked my phone (with 2.4 spl) then installed radio then rom. What purpose would relocking the phone serve?

Ok, so i reread what you have done (which is not much). It seems like your trying to unlock your phone but do not have USB and Active sync, so your trying to do it through SD.

Well i was looking at the titanunlocker.bat and it does alot more than just place a .nbh file on your phone, so i don't see you being able to unlock using only an SD card.

Your going to need a USB and active sync to unlock (because you need to run the titanunlocker.bat, which does more than install .nbh).

Now you can update your radio and ROM via SD, after (and only after) you have unlocked with the new 2.4 olipro spl. To do this, you have it right, just rename TITANIMG.nbh and put in BL mode and it should detect. But like i said you need to unlock first through USB and Active Sync.

I have the same problem trying to flash back to the stock verizon rom, the sd card is formatted to fat32 and everything seems like it should work but I get stuck at the loading screen also - This all started by me flashing the Hard-SPL-MFG rom before unlocking the device (was in a bit of a hurry and forgot), so the ROM was upgraded, the radio was not, and it wasn't unlocked - however when I force it into BL mode it's SPL-1.04, anyways after lots of problems I decided to try to flash the ROM back to the stock and start over, but it gets stuck at the loading screen. Could it be because both of ours are not unlocked? Is it possible to unlock via sd card, since I have a ton of problems trying to unlock via USB (doesnt seem to want to work, the unlocker freezes each time).

I would guess its because you have stock BL yes. Best bet is to unlock then put stock rom back (which will install stock BL again). Now im not sure which unlocker you should install, the older one or the one for GPS (if i were to guess they would both work).

Do you mean the Titanunlocker.exe? If I try to unlock it now (putting it in BL mode, USB hooked in) when I click the "Unlock" button it freezes on my computer and I have to end process it, if I try to run the TitanUnlocker.bat it says it cannot find the phone. However I can start the RUU and get it to freeze on the phone so the USB is working - just not with TitanUnlocker.bat and (possibly) the .exe version.
