Quick question, I just flashed to the this ROM from DCD's and I still have DCD's first initial screen that says "HTC...dcd clean rom". How I can flash that to a stock HTC? Is it called a bootscreen?

Ok I've been hearing about this extROM but I can't seem to find much info on what exactly it is.

What is extROM and why do I want or need it?
Thanks in advance.

extROM is another partition of memory that holds customization software from a carrier. IE. when you hard reset and you see customizations in 3 seconds.. the software that gets installed is in extROM.. It's about 6MB that you can use if you don't run any customizations with the extROM unlocker that no2chem has put up.

So in essence it's like hidden storage.
Other than the extra 6MB of storage is there any other benefits to extROM?

My bad I meant to say 9 MB,.

Umm nope.. but back in the ppc-6700 it was nice to have that extra storage to install stuff on and have it run fast as it was internal memory and not accessing storage card where i used to install programs on

Although I haven't tested to be 100% sure, I think it would be useful to store all of the programs that you want to immediately install after flashing. I have a folder on my storage card for that now but eventually I am guessing someone will find out how to run a script like Sprint does to install the cabs that you want installed from the extROM

If I remember correctly, you can install up to 9mb of your most precious .cab in extrom but in order for them to load during the customizations procedure, you will need to modify a config.txt or .xml file in order for them to initiate.

Hopefully someone with the exact specifics will chime in here...

No2Chem-

Just flashed your ROM and wanted to stop by and say thanks for the effort, I am liking it so far.

If you leave the autorun file in the root of the Extended_ROM and you edit the config.txt to include any cabs that you want installed, it will automatically install them on first boot after a hard reset.

Each line should look something like

CAB: \path_to_cab\file_name.cab

You can also add

EXEC:\path_to_some_file\Filename.exe

and it will execute the program.

Is there any way to change the size of the extended rom or unlock it so you can install apps on it?

To my knowledge there is no way to change the size (unless it were to take away from the normal system storage) and with 5046 you should have it by default unlocked and ready for installs. When you are installing your cabs just choose the ExROM as your install location.
