Thanks backseat moderator, but it is. It's comparing two of the bigger ROMs around here.

I just think that when it comes to efficiency, and letting N2C know about issues/changes, then we need to clean this forum up.

Just my 2 cents.

Shut up.

My 2 cents:

Wait for 5062, there will be a separate thread.

Dude, no need to be a boner about it. You are asking questions that have nothing to do with this thread, and I was trying to politely point you in the right direction.

I am done with the "my moderator opinion crap", but a lot of people are complaining about how bloated this thread gets.

Yep, it will be nice to have a new thread, but if we still have these idiots posting irrelevant questions, people not using the search feature, and people not realizing that if your post is not related to the N2C "UPGRADE" then post a new damn thread, then it is going to get just as out of hand as this thread has gotten.

I am not saying that I am a moderator or even that I would want to be, but someone is going to have to keep it under control in the new 5062 thread.

.

What question did I ask that had nothing to do with this thread? I answered someone who was saying DCD was crappy compared to nueROM (HOLY CRAP THIS IS A THREAD ABOUT NUEROM). I have a different experience (which is they are both pretty close to each other) which would maybe help that person not to go through all the effort of reflashing to another ROM, if it's not the ROM at fault.

Who are you to point me in the right direction? Check my post history boss, I'm good without your "help".

Wow, I was polite and even said that I meant no disrespect towards you and you go ahead and said that we are idiots? Look I could step down to your level and ensue on a battle of bickering but I think I'm a better man than that. I would like to think you are too.
My questions and others similar to mine are related to the rom made by No2 and considering that apparently No2 is releasing 5062 in the coming weeks I believe he would look for very little feedback on 5060 here. So even though it is not technical conversation that would help No2, it could sure help others that have the same problems or doubts using this rom or deciding to use it or not.
And thats the last I have to say about that.

Re: No2Chem nueROM 2.0 (WM6.1) Thread

Guys. Stop. No more arguing.

If a mod or no2chem thinks this is out of hand, they will say something and/or close the thread.

Until then, calm down.

Everyone should try to stay on topic, but no one has had any issues recently, therefore we can post about things related to nueROM 6062's release date.

If someone asked something and we all acted like 'idiots' that'd be a different story. But no one has, so we can continue to post relevant, but non-crucial information.

Re: No2Chem nueROM 2.0 (WM6.1) Thread

True, I apologize for the derail.
Well I guess back on topic, there was somebody back a few pages saying spb backup was not working with 5061a. I found the same thing, it would get stuck during backup or restore. A friend of mine had a version of clone and I was able to create a backup with that one. I guess you would lose the the privilege of selective restore but for those who like a clean backup to always revert to after messing around with new apps or themes, that would be a solution. So if 5062 has similar problems you could look at using clone.

Re: No2Chem nueROM 2.0 (WM6.1) Thread

Instead of using software for backing up certain files, I make my own .cab files that I run after a flash. They include my custom ringtones, themes, sounds, fonts etc. Its alot easier than backups because the .cabs will always work.

I use WinCE cab manager. It is rather pricey, but use the trial for a bit to get what you need.

I haven't tested it yet, but im going to guess that 5060 will be spb backup compatible with 5062.

edit: also completed nuePackageInstaller, which lets you install oem packages without flashing a new rom.... (or using a kitchen)

...5062 is about done, id be guessing. just need to test weatherpanel and a few other things people have been complaining about. If there was something broken in 5060 and you want it fixed, now would be the time to complain =)

The latest Sprint BT stack would be my number one request, but you mentioned once before it crashed when you tried to use it. Has there been any progress with that?

using a newer bt stack, HCI = 3.51.0, not sure if it fixes the problems you are having

Thanks, sounds interesting. I'll definitely look into it since it would be a "cleaner" way and not rom dependant.

No2 Thanks for all your work, can't wait. The only problem I encountered was the spb backup one and it was on 5061a. It worked fine on 5060.I'm currently running 5060 and have had no problems. I've run pretty much everything on it and it doesn't lock or freeze. Although I did have some problems with USB modem when reconnecting right after disconnecting but I'm pretty sure it is a problem with the program per se and not the rom.

1) BeeJive JiveTalk won't run

2) Weatherpanel freezes on first boot following install. this is wether it is during UC or installed individually. On boot it halts on the 3rd boot image, the green windows 6.1 welcome96.

That's all i got for now.

Thanks

Has anyone played around with the NAM settings. What is better NAM 1, NAM 2 or auto NAM? I get bad reception where I live and was wondering if this will help. I am on Verizon.

HTC Touch keyboard by HetalPatel, doesn't seem to play nicely if you also cook in one of the BL Keyboard skins..

Touch KB worked OK for a few hours, then just totally stopped. They wont come on at all now.

So, just FYI if you have the ability to test... if not , no biggie.

I found a way to turn off 'Touch Keyboard' and 'Touch Keypad' in the registry so at least now they dont show on my SIP list.

No2Chem is the bluetooth stack in 5062 the same as 5060. In 5060 it seems to crash a couple times a day. It has not done this in the past. Just wondering.

Thanks,

No2chem I have never had issues with Weatherpanel manually installing it. In fact it is working on a cooked rom from your 5060 base as we speak. When using the UC and then it installed after a hard reset the phone would lock up so I just removed it from my sdconfig and manually deployed it with no issues. =)

Re: No2Chem nueROM 2.0 (WM6.1) Thread

The only issue I get no2chem with 5060 and really any version of the ROMs is that sometimes if I slide open my keyboard with a message thread open, the text box will be only one line tall and will not expand when I type. It is fixed just by completely closing the messaging app and opening it up again, but it is annoying.

I have a theory it only happens when I slide it open AS I open the thread itself and the thread hasn't fully loaded, but I am not sure if that is 100% correct, just my thought.

Anyway, just something I'd throw you way in case you know of any easy way to fix it. Not a big deal, just a very small annoyance. Otherwise, 5060 has been VERY stable. Almost so stable I don't want to upgrade, but we all know how long that will last ;) (not the stableness, that will last! My desire to keep what I have and leave it alone won't tho)

I have had that happen on both nuerom and dcd.

In layman's terms, does this mean we can now upgrade without doing a Hard Reset?

I can start bt, and use my stereo earbuds without a problem... WMP or TCPMP. It is only when I boot up the phone with bt already enabled that I seem to have a problem.

I think I'll leave well enough alone and not boot up with bt enabled!!

Great ROM N2C... once again, outstanding work.
