I think I bricked my XV6800 somehow
Not a good day.
I flashed a new ROM into my XV6800 this afternoon and when it restarts now it just hangs on the Verizon screen, the default welcomehead.96.png I believe. Cold boots and battery pulls just end up back here as well. I does first flash up the M B P R and D info at the bottom of the screen then that goes away and thats it, just sits there. Is there a way to force it into bootloader, or another mode, so that I can flash a ROM that I know works back in? Any help would be appreciated. Ks. |
I've had this happen with my Sprint PPC6800
I had to quite literally let it sit and load on that front screen for an hour or so, something was wrong in my registry though. My phone has also all but died since then too, so...you might just wanna go get another phone. :-/

Mine did same thing, took it to sprint, I played dumb. "Said dont know what happened to my phone?" So after them doing many soft resets and hard boots. They went in the back and got me a new phone.

Power camera reset gets you in bootloader, then run a known good rom

Thank You ImCoKeMaN !
This did the trick and I am back on the air and off to try another stab at building that perfect ROM. Ks. |
Another thing you can try if you ever hang at boot is to try booting without the microSD card. For whatever reason, it causes some phones to hang.

If your phone gets as far as showing you the first bootsplash, your phone is extremely unlikely to be broken - you most likely have a bad ce partition and should put the phone in bootloader manually, then reflash with a good rom.
If your phone gets further than the first bootsplash, your phone is definitely salvagable, and you should put the phone in bootloader manually, then reflash with a good rom. If your phone won't get as far as showing you the first bootsplash, make sure your battery works. Bootloader mode is the tri-colored screen. Manual way to enter bootloader: Press and Hold: Power + Camera + reset. |
Power, Camera, and Reset
Saved the day for me as well! Thanks for this post! |
