New Sprint phone to replace Epic?
Did a couple google searches but didnt come up with much. Does anyone know of any new sprint phones possibly in the works for this year that WILL have a keyboard like our Epics? I know Sprint is rolling out this whole LTE thing but has anyone heard of a phone tht will actaully replace the epic?

No word but id recommend the epic touch 4g or wait for the gnexus. |
Re: New Sprint phone to replace Epic?
That sucks. really not interested in a phone if it doesnt have a qwerty keyboard like the epic. I have attempted going with out it but for long emails/texts the on screen thing just doesnt work for me...

Re: New Sprint phone to replace Epic?
I am waiting for a new keyboard phone too with LTE and hopefully quad core..(hey I can dream)
A bit surprising there have been no leaks yet :/..I have a feeling sprint isn't very engaged at securing phones as they are not sure how their network will be. I mean their lineup for 2012Q1 is none existent...I would have at least expected a Evo Shift 2 by now... |
Re: New Sprint phone to replace Epic?
they have an iphone now... what else do they need to do? Playing with the SGII and comparing it to the epic, I'm hoping that the SGIII is just as much more awesome, but we shall see. I hope they release something before the 1-year replacement thing expires in may, but probably not. That means I have to wait until 8/31 to re-up for 2-years.
qwerty or bust. |
I am a 5-row qwerty keyboard guy. 5 rows because I don't want to have to hit the Fn button to type in a number. I use numbers a lot at work and the epic keyboard is near perfect!

Re: New Sprint phone to replace Epic?
The keyboard trend might be coming back slowly... I've been seeing snap on bluetooth cases with keyboards for newer phones so they can become "sliders" :S might be an option for you if you feel like charging both keyboard/phone at night

Swype style keyboards are much better for the general public these days. The keyboard phones have become a niche market it is sad to say.

Re: New Sprint phone to replace Epic?
Yea seems as if qwerty sliders are going out of style. There are none in the works or being announced in the high end realm, maybe in the lower end realm there are. As for LTE who knows if sprint will even be able to roll that out as they don't even have their 3G network straightened out (speeds are still slow where I'm at, they failed the 2/16 resolution date and still tons of complaints on the sprint community forums)

Re: New Sprint phone to replace Epic?
me = sad panda.
a GSIII slider would have been awesome. |
I moved to a galaxy s2(Epic Touch) and haven't missed the qwerty.

Re: New Sprint phone to replace Epic?
like I say all the time, tell me how easily you can type Flagitious Idiosyncrasy in the Dilapidation in a mosh pit with out looking at the keyboard.
The epic touch is nice and has some nice features for inputting text, but epic it is not. |
Re: New Sprint phone to replace Epic?
It really does suck that they are no future plans of a nice phone with a keyboard. It sucks even more that now my screen is borken on my epic and my phone has some phsyical damage and since i do not have TEP (which I was unaware that I did not have) I am stuck with my broken phone until I can buy a new phone. So now as of now I am back to a Nextel phone until further notice...

Re: New Sprint phone to replace Epic?
It would be nice if even they just release a limtied supply of of newer phones with qwertys. Like a Galaxy S3 limited edition version with qwerty but I dont see that happening so I guest I am out of luck.

Re: New Sprint phone to replace Epic?
There is a trick to getting TEP on any line...you swap it out for any phone and swap it back in...as long as you activated a phone within 30 days you can go on chat and activate TEP.
Also if your phone is less then a year old you also have Samsung's warranty. |
Re: New Sprint phone to replace Epic?
thought about a galaxy note, but it is also only AT&T now.
Still need the qwerty |

cause see there are a few keyboard phones that came out. The problem is they aren't "high end". Not to mention some of them still don't understand 4 row qwerty = waste of time...if your going to make a keyboard phone might as well go 5 row! |
Re: New Sprint phone to replace Epic?
Still hoping for a new Sprint high-end phone with a slide out 5-row keyboard....

Re: New Sprint phone to replace Epic?
Same here. I've got time to keep hoping until November when my Sprint contract comes up for remewal. Maybe by then...

Re: New Sprint phone to replace Epic?
a GSII/GSIII with a nice snap on KB that was solid or even a snap on thumb kb would be acceptable. Otherwise, I would just get an iPhone 4s/5 so I can share apps with my iPad.
