How do I fix the lag...really happy with the update, I do not need to flash the rom...I hope...any suggestions](*,)](*,)](*,)](*,)](*,)](*,)

The only way I was able to finally fix the keyboard issue was to root my phone.

See this thread: Root Instructions for Gingerbread update!

This fixed the keyboard issue before I flashed the Sleeper custom ROM.

the stock rom lagged like crazy...
ASC ISC v5.5 has not missed a single key. so happy!

Good luck. the instructions are pretty simple in the link to android forums from that thread. I was able to successfully do it with my phone and then again with my wife's phone. Both our keyboard lag problems are fixed. I went ahead and flashed the sleeper custom ROM and am lovign it!
