Re: re-rooting after D700-EG22-8GB upgrade.

if its not a pre-rooted tar(by the looks of it, it isn't) then yes you have to re-root, note that its not the same root method as 2.2...

link me what you used, what gten is saying is by flashing tar with odin you killed root unless EG22 tar you flashed was "pre rooted" itself which usually it says but looks like what you used was NOT pre rooted.

just post link and if its the ACS link its not pre rooted.

ok this is tha link to the ROM she flashed

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/sprint-epi...7-23-11-a.html

this is what she used to Root the EPIC 4G

one.click.root.exploitv2.5.5.zip

the Epic was STOCK, Virgin never been rooted, so she used tha one click root methad and got root and i had her to check for tha Superuser icon in her apps to verifiy that she was rooted. and it was there, so she then flashed the Rom above and flash with no problem..but she noticed that the rom was diff but still had all tha sprint apps still on it. so i told her to just go into settings/and so on and click uninstall but the uninstall button whould not let her click it..so i had her to check n c if she still had the Superuser icon n hers apps still and she said no....its gone..so as of now we need to know if this rom we used made her not root anymore? if'so then

then can she still use the One click root methed that she used tha first time and gain root again to flash a diff rom?

and whats a good rom for her to start with thats stable?

thanks for yalls help

When you odin any rom+kernel you aren't rooted unless the rom+kernel is pre-rooted for you..in this case it isn't so you aren't rooted.

No, that one click method only works in froyo and below. IT don't work in gingerbread. You will have to odin, or use a gingerbread root method.

I havent gotten much chance to play around with gingerbread, so i sugegst asking darren, he probably tried all of them by now.

Ok thanks for yalls help homies..

Ok since she is on Gingerbread now and she cant use tha Oneclick methed anymore.
Can she use Revalutionary to root hers like i did my EVO with Gingerbread ?

But she should still use Odin to flash tha roms ?

Hopefully someone could recommend a stable Ginger Rom
For her to use... Thanks

sent from HTC EVO w/ Synergy RSL1 Rom

no, but rooting the Epic in gingerbread is fairly simple..or you can just flash a pre-rooted gingerbread tar in odin.

As long as the phone turns on you can flash anything in odin...
