Phone Mic Goes Out

So over the past couple of days, the mic on my phone has been going dead in the middle of a conversation. I assume it's the mic because I can still hear the person on the line quite clearly. One person told me that she could tell when the mic went out because it went completely silent; even the background noise was gone. I basically have to end the call, then call the person back.

I can't think of anything I've downloaded or done to the phone recently. Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix, or will I be battling with Sprint to get a replacement phone?

hmm..does this happen often? if so have you tried a sound recording app to see if same thing happens? also have you tried a hard reset?

It's been doing it for about 3 days now...started on Friday ( 7/8 ). I hadn't tried it with a sound recording app, but will give it a shot. Thing is, mic goes out without warning and at varying times....sometimes near the start of the call, and other times after I've been talking for quite a while. I haven't tried a hard reset yet; wanted to research for any fixes first. Plus, if it's a software issue the problem will still be present once I reload my data, right?

Depends on the software issue whether something is interfering, or is it related to the rom/radio etc..what are you using btw for rom/kernal/radio?

Some other things to consider is do you use bluetooth headsets or 3.5mm ones?
