Is there a way to DISABLE the screen locking feature?

I just get sooooooo annoyed by having to swipe up on the screen everytime i turn it on before I can use my phone, my htc touch pro 2 obviously was not like this and I managed just fine.

go to settings->locations and security and disable the lock screen...

oh for some roms it doesn't work so you can sue this app instead I guess:

I've been using that No Lcck Market app since last fall.
Click to disable screen lock. Click again to reset it.
Simple. Functional. Effective.

I've also used no lock.. however, I wonder if no lock prevents the phone from deep sleeping .. ?
