Extracting/Modding a launcher?
 

after searching and searching for the original version of the launcher that comes installed in the theme i was using and not finding it. Was wondering what do i need to

1st. extract the launcher from the theme
2nd. was is it that i need to extract
3rd. How to remove/change the background on the dock
4th. How to put it back together and be able to use it on my phone

launcher is the TWgtg Launcher

also if anyone knows where i can find the stock version of this launcher

it says launcher is skinned touchwiz 3.0...

Edit: Actually looking at it closer it might be TouchWizGTG Launcher

Change the homescreen_icon_bg.png from the res/drawable folder from the twlauncher.

You will need open the file with 7zip, change that file how ever you want and put it back in with 7zip.

If this breaks the signature, you will have to sign it with apk manager.

ok then i need to look for 7zip cause i dont have that and apk manager.

and i can just change the background to anything i want then?

Just keep the pixel size the same as the original png image.

You shouldn't need apk manager, I only stated that because I rarely mess with the twlauncher and some apk's like launcher pro need it.

ok then i use 7zip to open (not extract correct?)

then i replace the background image like you told me then

i use 7zip to put it all back together

but i forgot to mention i dont want the rest of the theme i just want the launcher
how do i fix the launcher to look the way i want and extract the launcher completely so i can use it with other themes?

Just open the theme with 7zip and delete everything in the system folder besides the app folder, then delete everything inside the app folder besides the twlauncher, then you can flash it and only the launcher will install. Also delete the data folder if there is one in the root of the theme.

before i saw your reply i deleted in homescreen png you told me to replace in hopes it will give me a clear one and i closed everything back up and im trying to install the zip wich contains the rest of the theme just to see if that work but it stuck in the bootanimation
what do i do?

also that theme was for ECO5 and i have the EE03 modem installed can that be an issue?
hope not since im running a rom that was made for ECO5 and have had no issues

Reflash the theme as it originally came and you should be ok.

Re opened the theme with 7zip edited the bin.png files u stated I needed to fix with the way I wanted them too look deleted everything else but the launcher apk closed it back up and installed it through cwm working great no fc's and looking the way I wanted it too. Thanks for ur help
