Text message counting
 

Is there a way to get this phone to count the text message length? I know the phone will try to send multiple messages to people if you go over 160 characters but not everyone I know have unlimited text so I try to keep it under the normal limit.

Still running stock, EC05 if you need that info.

What do you mean?

Doesn't it count the text message length already that's how it knows how many words you have typed

I think I found the option but it's not where I thought it would be, it was on the main screen of messaging, and not within the text message, and it only seems to count the last 10 characters or so when you approach your limit.

What I just found out was that the phone is set with an 200 character limit which is why I didn't think it was working properly. Now I see you can change it from 200 down to whatever you want. It also doesn't work until you reboot the phone, which was another issue I didn't grasp...

another thing you can do also for the people that dont have unlimited messaging is if your message to them is going to be pretty long i.e. 3-4 text messages worth then send it as a MMS i know it gets charged a bit more but that way your only sending one mms instead of 3-4 sms just an idea hope it helps
