Screen Rotation Stopped Working, HELP!
 

ok, as the title states my auto-rotation is not working anymore. the last time i recall it working was before i flashed to the midnightrom. i tried what i hope was going to be a fix that i found on the xda forum for the samsung fascinate, but that hasn't done the trick. so im back to square one and looking for an answer.

here are the things that i have done so far to rectify this:

1) did the screen calibration in settings>display>horizontal calibration....no good

2) used terminal emulator to force recalibration....no good

3) used root explorer to delete the file in system/bin/sensorcalibutil_yamaha then wiped the davlik cache, rebooted, did the horizontal calibration....still no good

so if you have a fix that works, or something that should work, let me know and im game to try it. i still have landscape when i use the keyboard, but i just wont do the trick when i tilt the phone. also, games and programs that utilize the gsensor/accelerometer (not sure what to call it) don't work it either. ex) with the game prism 3d the ball just bounces up and down, doesn't go in any direction...no tilting at all.

i haven't heard/read of anyone else using midnightrom having this issue...so i don't believe that it is the rom at all. maybe reflashing it would work, but im trying to find another fix because i don't wanna have to reload all my apps and settings again, lol.

ok, lets first debug to make sure hat the issue is, go into the dialer and type:

*#0*#

Then hit:

Sensors

This will give you data on your accelometer..play around with it and make sure its correct

i hit *#0*#, but nothing came up that said "Sensors" or anything else. just was still sitting at the keypad.

you typed that in the dialer and nothing happened? you are using the touchwiz dialer right? didn't replace it with anything did you?

maybe try to hard reset or flash back to stock. or maybe even the chef of that rom disabled rotation in some areas at least that's how it was on some wm roms. sorry but hard reset looks to be ur only option if nothing else has worked.

yep, use the dialer that's on the midnightrom, haven't played with anything else.

I'm trying not to have to flash or hard reset just yet....

That menu should definitely work...:/..it worked on stock and I am using ACS with TouchWiz and it works too...

I would confirm with other midnight users if they can access that menu, if not then find out from pdfmedic...let me research if there is an alternative way to access the menu while.
