Gingerbread is in the works
 

I'm sure some already seen this, but for those that didnt:

is a pretty much all but confirms we are getting Gignerbread and its in the works

ED12 = April 12th

looking around ED12 is the first rom since EC05 that we got..this most likely means there will be no more Froyo updates and next patch will be straight to gingerbread...This is the first test rom that sprint released for Gingerbread too..so it may also mean a long road ahead (hope not)

Anyways thats good news Gten! Maybe I will be satisfied with my Epic for another year since I have been demoted to Sprint Premier Silver:pale:

Getting word out of Europe this morning that Gingerbead is starting to push out for the original Samsung Galaxy S. That's right in line with what Samsung Finland had said, as well as the Three network. So if you've got the ol' GT-19000 and have a hankering for some Android 2.3.3, fire up Kies and get to flashin'.

I'm pretty sure that (since I'm gold) I will replace my phone in august or so and give my Epic to my gf so she can replace the tp2 with it. She is on an old SERO plan, but I think she could activate a Epic if she got it.

Most places Samsung updates via KIES not via Google..that said, it sounds more like a problem on Google's end then on Samsungs. I mean there was no indication of bricking phones, that means there must be some flaw.
