Verizon: Can you hear me now......? Good/ Sprint: Ready now network
I bought a verizon galaxy tab about last week... my monthly will be only $20 month plus insurance ($9 mo.) So...
I know it's been a while since the last time I posted here but I really miss my folks here in the forum. Where you all at? Anyway, back to the topic... when I heard about the eb13 I immediately dove into the upgrade a couple days ago so now I'm currently running Midnight's latest rom. Boy do I like it? I love it! But for some of you if you didn't know... that $20 plan gives me 1gb of data for the month. I did that unpurpose because I don't have any coverage here by verizon anyway and besides that I just turn data OFF. I want to tether not by wifi but by bluetooth with the Samsung Epic 4G.. with pdanet paid software... is it possible? Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk while your mom was putting her clothes on. |

I dont think its possible..mostly using PDAnet...
IF your on verizon, how about going for the motorola xoom instead? How to: Bluetooth Tether to Motorola XOOM Using Original DROID - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog it can do it since it has honeycomb...otherwise you would either have to wait till honeycomb or do it a very messy way :/...and I cant exactly tell you the messy way as is because it would require a lot of testing and research... |

I don't understand. Wifi is way faster than Bluetooth. Why don't you want to use Wireless Tether?

Why I prefer bluetooth? Bluetooth is more secure and less prone to interference because of short range functionality. It uses less power and keeps tethering on longer on a single charge. Speed is quiet the same as wifi no major changes. (I've tested this on the htc touch pro 1 using wmwifirouter but not on the epic so results my vary)
A few gripes I have about the xoom. The 3.0 not as nearly ready as 2.2 froyo roms. And I don't want to carry 10 inches as opposed to the galaxy tab 7 inches. A lot of my apps won't even work with honeycomb. I don't see honeycomb any better of use than froyo right now. Don't know how long it will take for more app to be compatiable with the nvidia chipset based tablets. I'm not going to wait for the conversion to take place.
