EB13 is so slow.
 

ok... the battery goes down about 20% an hour. and it just hangs a lot. I can't get the curtain to come down. until I swipe down a bunch of times. Anyone else see slow downs?

dids speed tests compared to a stable dk28 and it was little faster and also did battery test and posted them results and they were better and no curtain issues here. tried to keep my testing as close as posible to each being stock. go flash the oc'd kernel out there for some better speeds, im very happy.

The stock update seemed a bit slower than stock DK28 to me and my screen wasn't as responsive but I didn't experience the other issues you did. Speed test results were comparable to DK28 stock. As recommended above you might want to factory reset. I can confirm the oc kernel works and does improve battery life for me. Good luck.

no issues here with lag or the curtain the only thing that somewhat improve was the gps its still not deadon accurate first it said i was a block away from where i actually was then a mile away anyone got a way to improve this

I did not do a factory reset cause I didn't want to have to reinstall everything. I can't get 2.5.2 to root it so I can't restore my backed up voicemail, the period tracker to see why/when my gf is going to be a bitch, and angry birds.

Basically, no matter what I do, I can not get the curtain to come down. Takes probably 5 minutes to get it to come down. During that time, I've clicked on a shit load of stuff.

I can get into a text message by swiping down when someone messages me. Getting to a message is so hard otherwise... and then getting back to all the messages... foggitibouttit.

The latest root is 2.5.5...if you have problems with pc rooting you can use z4root too probably...once rooted/clockworked you can backup your data..

I thought CW3 did ext4 not rfs.

and get gten, I know all about backing up via rooted, but since I couldn't get my PC to root my epic. My morning was TERRIBLE with the phone. I can't get to anything and the buttons mostly do nothing. I'm going to have to go and reflash it.

it takes minutes for phone calls to pick up and when they do, it says "3-way call".

ugh and when you make a call, it takes about 30 seconds for the screen to change though the call goes through. I feel like I'm back on the tp2

you must really have a bad flash or something. i dont have any of the issues you speak of and had no problem rooting and instaling clock work. i didnt use the latest thought. i used one click root 2.4 with clock work and superuser built in. i used the sumsung updater to flash eb13. superclean install and no bugs found yet. what method did you use to update?

ODin to di18, reinstalled my apps/data. Then update.zip

In landscape mode, I can't drag the unlock to the missed message notification (right swipe)
Exchange no longer updates the task bar with new mail notes.

Hi Revaaron,

It sounds like something may not have updated correctly. EB13 is much better in terms of speed and battery life for me than DK28 was. Also multitasking is working much better.

I did a full flash that erased everything on the phone since DK28 wasn't supported as an OTA or .ZIP update. I found that it really helped the phone preform better as well.

Maybe you can do a back up and flash it back to stock. I know it may be annoying, but I'll bet you will have a better experience.

i didnt even use a back up. i did a claen install of eb13 from bonsai(dk28 based) using the samsung installer. gmail keeps my contacts and i used an app called "app backup/reinstaller". it only backs up the .apk for reinstallation. took about 5 minutes to reinstall everything, then another 5 to change a few settings and put all my widgets back. even though dk28 to eb13 was still froyo to froyo, i didnt want to restore a backup, just to have a real true clean install.

Did you use the Update.zip? Or the Windows version that flashed the whole thing? I've read on the Androidcentral site that a few folk had issues upgrading with the Zip method.

I used the windows that took my personal Epic back to stock, but that was because of DK28, but I used the Update.zip method to upgrade my boss' phone (I couldn't stand him being on Eclair a second longer...).

If you've already flashed and it was back to stock, I don't know what to say beside maybe try again.

Sucks that it didn't work cleanly.

Ok... I see one thing, the vibration doesn't work at all. I think all the pauses are at times when vibration shoul happen. Is the vibration working?

I used update.zip method and vibration works fine for me :/...the people that had similar issues as you did factory resets an it worked for them..

I agree with the op this Rom is very slow. I you have been using a custom Rom you will definitely notice the difference. My smartbench mark scores were problem 875 productivity and 1400 gaming. I flashed the bonsai Rom v2.0.1 with this viper rom 1.2 genocide kernel and now my speeds are 1350 productivity and 3055 gaming. I eventually under clocked my Rom since I am not a game to 800 MHZ and now my scores are 900 productivity and 2200 gaming. The stock Rom seriously sucks and I really hated touch wiz. I personally use launcher pro plus but anything is better than laggly touch wiz plus their widgets are not all that impressive.

ok, I just reflashed with the second method and vibrations work again and the phone is snappier. re-installing everything through marketplace.android.com
