2 questions about appointments

I've searched and either I'm not using the right terms or there's not a thread out there. :) first, I have set my appointments to alarm 5 mins before and they are not. what's the deal? there's no sound or anything. I know the alarm works because I can hear it.

Also, is there a way to show upcoming appointments on my today screen?

Thanks!

Sure can tell you just came from Winmo.
Honestly I don't use touch wiz, so not sure I can help you with the "today" screen. I use launcher pro plus and that has a great calendar feature on it. As far as the appts not going off, did you make sure you set a working alarm tone?

I did just come from winmo land so I am searching and learning before I post a noob question :) What is touch wiz? does launcher pro plus show upcoming appointments on the home screen? I said I know the tone works as I tested it. it works for other notifications, therefore it should work for the appointment alarm, right?

Touch wiz is the stock launcher on the Galaxy S phones. It's kinda like what Sense is to HTC. Launcher Pro does, but only the pay version (it's $2.99 on the market) I'm assuming that you are still 100% stock? If so, it sounds like you have it right, but I know that some notifications tones don't work for everything. I haven't had Touch wiz on my phone in a looooonnnnngggg time, so my memory of it is a bit faded.

Good timing, looks like we will have the official froyo release in 2 days. =D>

Honestly, outside of the delay with froyo, I think it's the best phone on the market.

Welcome to the Epic Android land!!!

Does it work when you dont use 5min before and use on time? does regular alarm work?

Did you go into calendar settings a select a tone or just set notification tone in the sound settings menu? Try a calendar widget to get appts on your screen. Good luck.

Re: 2 questions about appointments

I went into the calendar settings and tried it the other way. I actually found an app that changes the notification sound and it's different than the sms sound. My sms sound isn't that loud but I need my calendar alarm to be. it's called 'calendar event' and I like it so far.
I couldn't get the default calendar to show my upcoming appointments, which is why I asked. I played around with it and searched but it's quite possible I missed it! :)

I use a widget called smooth calendar to display appointments on the Home screen. It's free and available on the market
