Epic Front facing camera
 

I'm just curious to see how many people actually utilize their front facing camera. Not just to take pictures but actually talk with someone.

I've used Tango a few times to talk with Friends on AT&T with Iphone 4's.

And on topic, I rarely use the frontfacing camera. I think its just cuz ik haven't found a vid-chat client I like.

I can tell you that as soon as I get my wife to move up to Android I'll be using it all the time. We have wifi at home and at work, so I'm sure she will use it to call me 10 times a day.

I currently use it occasionally with Oovoo but am definitely waiting for Skype with video chat. Once that rolls out I think I'll probably use it more often...quite a few friends with the iPhone4.

I think Google Talk with Video chat support would be even better than Skype. Put that front camera to some use!

Guys the front facing camera on this phone is a joke!

Its so dam grainy. Unless Im not using it right. I tried going to resolution and its grayed out. I checked the settings and its on "Fine".

I mean come on how can this feature actually be usefull. I can barely see my features when I take a self portrait!

The rear camera is beautiful, but after using my sisters evo. Her front camera is so much nicer, atleast its a functional feature. It doesn't have to be HD but I mean common.

I have never used it because there are no apps like facetime that I can just use it on.
Then need to make gtalk work on this phone with the front facing camera.
Otherwise, why have it? I have never gotten qik to do anything and skype with out video is useless.

Its advertised as being able to make video conference calls.

How do you do that? Is there not a feature for a video chat built into the phone?

there is nothing "built in" for any live video anything.

The two apps that I know of are Qik and Fring.

I've never used either but I'm sure a little research should give you an idea which is the best.

There is also oovoo and yahoo...

The front camera on the Epic is VGA..so it wont be the best quality but it should be decent enough for phone to phone convos..

I only used front facing camera once..and it was with oovoo beta..and I am positive audio worked worked..

I can't find the oovoo beta 3.0.1
The latest doesn't work for audio, and the beta isn't available on their website.

It was fairly long ago..so idk what exactly could be the change..its possible after beta it broke..its also possible the rom/kernel your on is responsible for breaking it..oreo..as I said only used it once...may even have been back when I was on Android 2.1 even...or maybe dk28..somewhere around then..
