Browser question

im using the browser that came with the epic and i was wondering if there is any browser that will not make you scroll to the right no matter how big you make the page. this browser doesnt seem to do that and when i tried the dolphin i had the same problem. maybe its not possible but just wanted to ask. thanks

I'm missing your question...you will have to scroll if you zoom in..that is given...can you explain a little better?

Re: Browser question

Opera and Opera Mini both do a pretty good job of resizing and realigning the page width to fit on whatever you zoom to. That keeps you from having to scroll left and right and all you have to do is scroll up and down. Of course there are going to be exceptions (some web pages simply don't play well with mobile devices). I use Opera for almost everything because it has great pinch to zoom. The only thing I use the stock browser for is anything that requires flash. So far flash doesn't work on Opera (unless I am missing something).

Re: Browser question

Download Opera Mobile and/ or Opera Mini go to settings and click "Mobile View" this will force webpages into a column one screen wide. Both browsers look the same but Mini is very fast, basic, and works great with bad connections; Mobile is full featured the only thing it is missing is Flash 10.1.

I used to always use this feature when I had Opera Mini on a dumb phone like my Samsung A900 or M520. It really does make quick browsing easy, I don't use it anymore because of pinch zooming and large screens...

no..you just need to check the option to allow unknown sources apks...rooting is for applications that require root..

Re: Browser question

I use sky fire for almost everything... But the the 3.0 stuff is kind of annoying.
I really dig firefox, but it takes up a lot of CPU time.

Anyhow. I switched browsers for the same exact reason. I wanted a browser that was more like the mobile pie browser from winmo 5. None of them doitrigt.

UC browser has flash! Been using it for a while, it's as fast as Opera Mini.

Search UC Browser in the Market!

I installed UC browser from the market opened it put youtube.com on it and it says
"Your browser is no longer supported Please upgrade to a modern browser"
gives the options of FF/Safari/Opera/IE8/Chrome

is there a newer version im might be missing. Oh also im on stock 2.1 just in case that matters

Flash only works on Android 2.2

For me that was reason enough to upgrade my Epic to 2.2 (dk28)

Edit: same error on youtube, looks like it only supports some flash sites.

I use the modified stock browser for flash sites (hulu, youtube, vevo, yahoo video.) And opera mini if I just want to find something fast!

I recommend this stock Odin update, easy as pie! From there you can flash any custom rom if you want.

The stock one I linked is stable and reliable. I am on Viper Afterlife 4.0.1 and it has eye candy, stable and reliable so far, and has a modified TW interface that I actually prefer over launcher pro.
