Stop sprints traffic filtering!!!

My favorite is that this fixes the Media error 1:1 when playing videos over 3g on Skyfire!!!!!


Get your MSL#

Go to phone > Dialer > ##3282# > Multimedia > Enter "MSL" > You will see RTST Proxy, HTTPPD Proxy > modify every list > set Address with "0.0.0.0", port with '0'.

I would copy down original #'s just in case you want to revert back for some reason!


I haven't tested it enough to know what Sprint is blocking/filtering/throttling and why. There are several potential reasons including:

- The proxy may be throttling bandwidth. Since 32k aac+ uses a very modest amount of bandwidth, you may be ducking under a threshold.
- The proxy may be doing site-based filtering. Perhaps the site you're connecting to isn't covered.
- The proxy may be doing content-based filtering. aac+ isn't as well supported as other streaming media. Perhaps it is being overlooked.
- The proxy may be overloaded with connections, and dropping higher bandwidth streams.

Or any combination of those.

thanx op, will push this to skyfire too since i alpha test for them. was in talks with them about wth is going on with streaming just this week.

Strange thing is I followed the directions to a t, and I found that I already had all zeros in the settings for everything... any thoughts?

i had nothing in any and still say "not set"

[EDIT] Oops. For some reason thought this was the Evo forum. SORRY! Interesting. When I followed these instructions, I dialed ##3282# and right off the bat I am seeing a different screen. Nothing that says multmedia. Just a screen to type in a password. Put in the MSL, and was able to continue, but I am not seeing any place to modify these settings. Help?

dial ##3282#, put in your MSL, then scroll down to multimedia.

In there, put all zeros in all the sections. (for safety, write down anything that may be in there in case you need it in the future)
