Talk and Surf on the Epic 4g

Will we be able to talk and surf the internet at the same time on the Epic 4g and do other kinds of multi task. Is the Epic gonna be using Wimax or CDMA or CDMA/Wimax.

So what's the problem? I've been able to do it on my Verizon PC phones for years, just took a registry hack to enable it. As far as I saw, it had nothing to do with the network. Is this not true or do people not have access to the droid OS to set it?

Any CDMA tech including Verizon cannot use Voice and Data at the same time...its not a setting, its the limitations of the revision of CDMA spec.

The only way you can accomplish voice and data is VOIP or use Wifi for data and talk voice over CDMA...

CDMA cannot do both VOICE and DATA...at least in the spec used here in the US it can't

yeah i'd like to know what this registry setting is lol.

keep in mind guys that you have to be in a 4g area to do this! probably going to be awhile for most of us.

Now that I think about it, it was with my T-Mobile phone, I never tried it on the Verizon.

If you are in a WIMAX area you can do data and voice at the same time with any WIMAX capable phone (this is a product of the network, not the phone).

OR if you are in a CDMA area without WIMAX but are on WIFI, then you can do data and voice at the same time.

You cannot talk and surf at the same time if you are only on a CDMA network without WIFI on any Sprint phone (not even the EVO or the Epic or any future 4G phone - this is a limitation of the CDMA network).
