Well yes and no...he is the one who did or at least contributed to most of the development on the Epic, he had a Samsung moment before and did dev for it so he was more familiar with Samsung's way of doing things...(he was on SDX)

the drama I guess kinda started with him doing things the SDX way and people used to the XDA way...so it folded with the lack of quick development and Samsung being slow to release Froyo little by little into what it was today...

But anyways lets not get into that.... it seems from what he posted that its not drama related but he has school work to catch up on so he planned to leave anyways.

There are still a bunch of good developers for the Epic though..

So does this mean we can expect some custom kernels soon? I really like Froyo but the battery lasts a lot longer with the undervolted kernels.

For us to get an under-volted kernel working would require for official froyo to be released...then the source code will be released with it..the other option is to write a kernel from scratch which is not simple...

can it be used with DJ29 4.2 rom and the Di18 modem?

DJ29 and DI18 are both Android 2.1 (Eclair). This kernel is for Android 2.2(Froyo). Don't mix them. You might not brick your phone, but it will probably get stuck in a boot loop and you'll have to use Odin and flash back to stock.

EDIT: And its still in Beta, so unless you know what you're doing, I wouldn't mess around with it too much.

I can't be on 2.1 because mine has app2sd feature... to clarify this is what I'm using [ROM] Froyo DJ29 leak, deodexed, zipaligned and pre-rooted v4.2 [11/12] - xda-developers with non custom stock di18 modem.

Ahhhh, you are correct. DI18 was the last stock update for 2.1. DJ29 was the first leaked version of 2.2. So yes, you can. My mistake.

Im not going to disclose my xda name for the fear of having a llama stampeed and troll me with ollama koolaid. But I spent time defending him over and over and people still crief how evil he wad and what a liar he is. Made me sick. People bashed him and just byrned him at the stake. Then they came after me. 1 person started all the crap over at xda. I guess some people believe everything they read and don't have the intelligence to make up there own mind. No matter what happened, and whatever the facts are, without Noobnl we wouldn't be where we are with Epic development.

All the fighting in the Epic forums over at xda kinda makes me wish I would have gone with the EVO, but oh well.

I have to agree with youngblack on this one. Its a little annoying when I am looking through a thread looking for one little bit of information that I know is there because I remember reading it last week and I have to wade through dozens of posts about forum politics and dev infighting. Its pretty much same thing but instead of installing them separately its all bundled into 1 install of everything in odin.

I think so..thats what it says there..

I was just about to withdraw my question because I already found out for myself as I started restoring stuff from backup. So far no Fc and I am really happy with this rom. Great Job.

Edit: dictionary.com fc after the restoring my data but nothing after that. I'm not putting this one on the rom's fault. It's most likely the software but...wow I was expecting more fc but only had one so far.

How do you enable USB access my sdcard from computer?

I've tried plugging into and rebooted 3 computers so far and ironically it will detect the device and tether on it if I wanted to but no Notification for USB from the phone? Yes the drivers are properly installed and I have Odin on all 3 of them. Vista 32 and 64bit computers and one Window 7 32bit machine. not one notification

Try enabling usb debug mode...as I said I have it working on my pc..not sure if its the debug mode or not but its worth a shot.

Wow... It works! Do you have to keep usb debug mode enabled? Supposed I execute a script on the pc by accident. Who's to blame. Another way to look at it.... That there isn't an easy way to access to the sd card if someone stole my phone without enabling usb debug mode first. Nice going. Ha.. :-)
