why would you have to pay at customs, i have lived close to the border (5 min) never heard that? i go and come as i please.

Hi :)

I won't cross the border my friend will. He's coming to visit his family (they live in the same hometown that I do) hence his driving a van (or big car, dunno) with stuff for them (presents for the kids, maybe a big tv that sort of stuff). Being Mexican with such much suitcases and boxes the Customs patrol will ask him if he has something to declare and then is when the coin is on the air. They could ask him to unload just the big boxes or the whole car or just nothing --depends on the luck and the representative's mood.

yeah but its only 1 phone that you can carry on you so no big deal unless you have a stock pile your going to sell. BTW if it matters any I'm Mexican too.

Exactly. My friend and his cell are safe but I'll have to pay for all the others. I'm not reselling them, me in my whole family are upgrading phones. I plan to buy about 5.

I have a Palm Treo Pro that could sell. It has a small crack on the battery cover that doesn't effect the tightness of it. It is unlocked too.
