Updated vBulletin 10/14/09 9:30am

If you didn't notice, the site was down for about 15 minutes this morning while I updated us from vBulletin 3.8.3 to 3.8.4PL1.

Please report any issues after this update. It was mainly a security fix from vBulletin.

I was wondering why the site was being so slow today. This explains it. Thanks! Everything is nice and quick again now.

I am getting "The server is too busy at the moment" messages. Took forever to post this.

It appears to be an attack. It'll get slow for a while, then when the server detects it and blocks it, everything speeds up again. So right now its just a big circle :(

This is unrelated to the update I did earlier though.

You need to jump up DreamHost or Softlayer's @ss about not mitigating the attack. They are both large enough to have enterprise DoS mitigation solutions in place. I am a CISSP and I specialize in network security including attack mitigation and enterprize Firewalls. You appear to be running on a dedicated server, which means you pay them mor.e to keep attacks from happening.
