We have plenty of space and bw, just our db is putting a hell of a load on the "shared server". Dunno why Ive seen larger boards run on our current host with no issues.

Mike,

I ran across a topic in the phpbb community forum that may help to alleviate some of the performance issues.

I read through the posts there and they do make sense. I'd be a little concerned about the fact that the thread is almost 4 years old, and depending on your version of phpBB they may already be in place, or not relevant.

Mike, it sounds like you have the right people working on it at this point. I'm not a PHP guy by nature (I do everything in ASP/VBScript) but since I own a hosting company I know enough PHP (as an occupational hazard) to at least understand what they are doing with these script edits.

I'm going to PM you with a couple of other things.

We are running the newest version of phpbb 2.x series. Thanks for the help.

When did this problem start happening. Yesterday I was logged in an tried to log in a second time in a new window using the same user name and password. I got the error.

Oooh database stuff, I was a DBA for a little while if you have indexes on some tables and can update the statistics that might help i'm sure they need it if it hasn't been regularly maintained.
