Well I highly doubt that its close to programming PPC's and stuff but try a program called QBasic, it will show you how programming is done and stuff. Of course its really old tech and not very user friendly and would take forever to do something like port Android onto a different device. Also I doubt the saga could do it.

why do you doubt the saga could do it?

Has different specs so it would be REALLY hard. The Vogue and Kaiser have similar specs to the G1 so it makes the port really easy (just what I have heard not sure).

I want to see this revisited. Android would work well on the Saga - it's fast enough, and the display is big enough as well. To start this, someone would need to build a Linux image (I think) using HAReT.

The one major problem with doing Android on the Saga is the lack of resources.

It has half the RAM of the Touch Pro Verizon, and the TPV is struggling hard to run Android, having ~30MB free to run apps. Most Android phones have nearly 100 MB RAM free to run stuff.

There's also the processor, which mulls along at a blistering 384 MHz, almost fast enough to keep up with an old Vogue. The Touch Pros are running 528.

Here's a nice blog post where to start poking around:

Good luck.

I'm replying on my Droid but would love to give the old saga something to do.
