Data recovery from a dead Omnia

Hello all -

I have an Omnia that does not power up because of a minute fluid damage. Could you please let me know how, if I can, recover some important data that I have saved to the onboard memory.

Thanks for your help!

ALWAYS ALWAYS backup your important data. you can use PIM backup. its free and works excellent

If it was saved to the My Storage partition, that chip is actually removable if you disassemble the phone. Still, in that case you would have to get another omnia and switch the memory chips; not sure if you want to do that. As for the My Device, i dont think you can save that.

Take it apart, and wash the board with rubbing alcohol, let it dry and but it back together, sometimes you get lucky. it'll turn on

Hi Nitrous,
I have had same thing happen to me this past weekend. I have taken phone apart to look for the chip. i cant tell which one it is. Can you provide more detail on this? I have my new phone and can swap out chips to pull data.
Thanks
Brian

hi, unfortunately i have not personally done this process but there are disassembly guides out there. I'll try to find one that shows the memory chip.
